We stayed there in February and absolutely adored it. Its is a very nice and bright house, decorated with simple and elegant taste. The owner and manager is a lovely lady. Very caring , full of advice yet very discreet. Breakfast is personalised and changes every day which is a fresh change from the standard hotels' buffet and cooked breakfast.
It is just a short walk from the nicest beaches on Camp bay and a short and beautiful drive on chapman's drive to Noordjoek Beach, a 5stars beach by our standard!

If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is close to the beach, in walking distance from all the main eataries and has excellent service then look no further.
We stayed 9 nights and felt at home here. Tamara, Yvonne and all the staff are freindly, helpful and very accomodating. The rooms are spacious and you have access to a private swimming pool on site. Walking distance from the beach, Pick & Pay (local supermarket). Perfect as a base if you want to hire a car (as we did) and explore Cape Town and South Africa.
I would definately go back and stay there again and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Cape Town.

Room Tip: Rooms 1-4 are on a higher level and you have a better view of the sea from your balcony.

Yvonne and Tamara were lovely and helpful from day one - they booked trips for us, looked up local information and gave hints on where to go and not to go, all of which turned out to be right.

It's about 5-10 minutes walk from the beach and very reasonable considering - everything else in the area is too expensive I think.

The room was cleaned daily and to a great standard, the beds were fantastically comfortable and quiet in spite of being near a road.

Would certainly recommend 61 Camps Bay, especially for the warm hosts and great prices.

We stayed 10 days there and it was a very good choice. Yvonne, Tamara and their team did their best to ensure that we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The location is great as easy to walk to the beach, shops and restaurants on the sea front. Excellent breakfast with home made treats every morning... Great ocean view from the terrace of the room and free wifi! Will stay again there!!!!

Great location with a 5 minute walk to the beach and stretch of bars and restaurants. The room we had was sea-facing and was large with a balcony. No A/C, just an overhead fan.

This guesthouse was acceptable but slightly overpriced for what was on offer. The pool area was untidy and the pool itself needed a clean and still had the pump in the pool. The cold breakfast options were good (selection of cereal, fruit, muffins and pastries) however on the second morning when I asked for bacon and poached eggs, I was denied and offered only scrambled eggs and omelettes, which didn’t happen elsewhere.

The guesthouse has recently been taken over (3 weeks ago ), so I hope the new manager will make a difference as the property itself is very lovely but it feels cheaply decorated in comparison to the 5 other guesthouses we stayed in on our 11 day holiday.

Room Tip: Sea facing, but they tend to be very warm with the glass windows and no A/C

We value our guests responses on trip advisor and would like to say we are confident that we are rated amongst the top 3 star graded guest houses in the Atlantic sea board. We are not to be compared with the fourstar rated hotels and guesthouses , but will always strive to be an upmarket guest house offering super friendly service to our guests offering a full on Breakfast Buffet and a favourable cooked breakfast in addition to the standard breakfast.

We are happy to say we are there to make your stay with us a pleasant and most affordable one.
kind regards
Yvonne

The title says it all. It only has 4 guest rooms so is very small, but what a pleasant place to stay. It's 3 star, but definitely a better 3 star. We stayed for 3 days and found the reception staff very friendly and helpful. We understood from chatting to the new owner that she hadn't quite completed the sale so can't speak for any changes that might be made, but the location was perfect with a gorgeous view of the ocean opposite and of the twelve apostles to the side.
The balconies run into each other and are very wide. The dining/sitting room was very pleasant , and breakfast was cooked or continental and delicious.
Rooms are light and airily dressed to make the most of the wonderful light, although a little more attention to detail would be recommended such a full compliment of towels and finger marks on the door. I'm sure the new owner will sort that sort of thing out.
Only a short walk to lively Camps Bay, down hill going and up on return so need to be relatively able. The road tends to be noisy in morning when people go to work, although we didn't find this a problem. Off road parking but not secure, but again no problem.
Lastly, there is a small pool and wooden sun loungers around it with some shade as well as sun although everybody seemed to go out and I didn't see anyone using it, but it looked very pleasant.
Accommodation is not cheap in Camps Bay, but the price was reasonable.
We would choose to stay there again.
