Description: Cafe Caprice combines artisan cocktails, a cafe-style dining menu, relaxing lounges and sidewalk seating to experience the epitome of Cape Town's cosmopolitan social scene. Situated directly across from Camps Bay Beach at 37 Victoria Road, open 7 days a week since 1999, it is a home for many Cape Townians and a must visit destination for tourists. Camps Bay beach is the ultimate sunset viewing spot and Cafe Caprice provides the perfect backdrop, as DJ's fill the space with laid back music from Thursday to Sunday with a deep, chilled house soundtrack. Cafe Caprice is a landmark on the Camps Bay promenade and an indelible part of the Cape Town bar and entertainment scene.

This sort of cafe is usually our sort of place, good vibe, good food etc. But having visited four years ago and experienced poor service (waitress forgot our order so then came over to retake it, meaning we waited ages for our meals), we returned in good faith only to experience the same thing - the wrong meal was brought for my partner, which the waitress realised as soon as she brought it to the table, leaving him watching me eat my breakfast for 15 minutes whilst they made his. It's a shame because it's in a great spot, but it feels a little 'too cool for school'. Also looking really quite tired now - definitely not as 'cool' as it once was!

noisy, mediocre service and forgettable food - but if you are going there for the 'vibe' and for the location, its a winner.

Only visit this place if you like pretentious staff who think they are mare important than the customers! Visited last week & told to get my own drinks from the bar whilst bar posing bar staff play football with fruit from the fruit bowl - bizarre experience!!

Worst service of all the places we visited in SA

Lunch time in Camps bay is a busy time. Relaxed atmosphere and a view of the beach and people in the street. Food and service very good. Tasty hamburgers.

We had a few drinks after a lovely day and nice meal. Unfortunately the bar upstairs smelled like vomit so we moved downstairs and my husband was hit with ice being thrown by a vile woman. I asked the bouncer to eject her for this behaviour and he refused. We won’t be back until people like that are removed.
