Description: Cape Town's showgirl on Africa's ‘Miami Mile’ in Camps Bay, offers grandeur of a bygone era for locals and international travelers. Elegant simplicity is the setting with beautifully prepared cafe-style cuisine and an impressive wine list showcasing local South African and international wines, desirable Champagnes, Cap Classique and cocktails celebrating the magnificence of this beach setting. Grand Room, offering the ultimate in bare decadence crowns the famous Grand Cafe on the Strip in Cape Town's, Camps Bay.

It was a hot evening - the restaurant was packed outside and deserted inside where we were given out table. The food was OK and the wines as always great value. The staff were friendly and the service from our waiter was quite good.

There were some good choices on the menu and the staff were knowledgeable about the wine! It gets busy, so book ahead!

This has to be one of the best spots in Camps Bay to watch the sun go down. On top on this, the drinks are reasonably priced. Sadly, the one area in which the restaurant disappointed was service - we has to wait over 15 minutes before our waiter noticed us, despite it not being a busy evening. That level of poor quality attention continued for the duration of our stay and hence we decided not to have a meal there. We will, however, be back for sundowners.

This spot really does have a great approach to customer service - and the food is consistently good. That said, even if the food and service were absolutely horrible (and trust me it will not be), the table that you occupy would be well worth the visit - I mean how can you beat a view of Camps Bay?

Had lunch here today, with a reasonable choice of salads, sandwiches and calamari/steaks. The staff were excellent, and this is also one of the only places along the front that supply free wifi that is not a hassle to log on to. Good wine list if you fancy watching teh sun go down here too.
