The first time we stayed at 3 on Camps was nearly a year ago when we came to CT to get married. We had originally booked at another hotel but were let down and were very fortunate to be offered a room at 3 on Camps.
We had such a wonderful stay and were treated so well that we decided to stay again this January. We requested our same room and without hesitation Maria kindly changed things around so we could be accommodated. The hotel is very central, not too close to the manic Camps Bay main road but perfectly situated for all our ventures. The hotel is clean and modern and our room has a wonderful view and lots of privacy. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as we prefer to eat out. The pool area is great for an afternoon relax. I would highly recommend staying here and don't think we would stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Room 9 is great, good view, on the corner so you have privacy, on the first floor so not too many st...

We stayed at this property for the last 4 days of our month long trip around SA and booked the penthouse - Room 14 (the best room in my opinion). We had fabulous views of the ocean and Table Mountain from our room and the huge balcony we had. Marie and George were great hosts and the staff, when we saw them, seemed friendly enough. There is a 10 min walk down a steepish hill to Camps Bay beach and the restaurants, so a great location. This was our 5th visit to SA and Camps Bay and you will find that most of the hotels/guest houses are set back off the beach, so dont be put off by the walk. We had a tea-time flight and Marie was very relaxed about us keeping our room (at no extra cost) - something you dont get with a regular hotel!

Room Tip: Room 14 in the Penthouse suite - fabulous views!

Let me start by saying that this place is quite nice. Our main complaint was firstly that it was overpriced and secondly that the staff were not that friendly. Lets start with the good points, firstly the views from the pool area and breakfast room were stunning. The room was clean and we cannot complain about the size because it was described as a cosy room. The location was good, it is only a 10 minute walk into Camps Bay. Mind you, the hill is so steep it takes 20 minutes to walk back again.
However by calling it a boutique hotel and spa the owners are trying to portray this guest house as something that it isn't. Although I appreciate that Camps Bay is an expensive area, but when you take into account that we paid nearly double here what we paid for better accommodation in Stellenbosch you begin to understand why we were not impressed.
The breakfast here was not good as the chef seemed incapable of cooking an omlett.
Finally we did not find the staff here either welcoming or helpful. When we asked them if they could recommend a restaurant we were told that they were all good. This is not what I consider to be helpful advice.

Sheer magic from proprietors George and Maria, who mucked in with their wonderful staff to pay expert attention to our every need. Room 6 was great. Beautiful views over Camps Bay from our bedroom, with French windows which open on to a lush green lawn for our own private space: deck chairs and umbrellas and another view, just by taking two or three paces onto the lawn, of Table Mountain. Six paces takes us to an open communal terrace area with dip pool and comfy sofas. Never encountered more than two or three other guests in the communal area. Room habribery efficient air conditioning for sweltering days, and loads of gushing hot water under superb pressure. Fridge in room as well as an honesty bar on the terrace for 24 hour access to a full range of beverages. Breakfasts in a comfortable spacious and airy dining room also looking over the bay. Cooked breakfast and/or health, muesli, yogurt, a rich variety of fresh fruits, pastries, etc. all in abundance. Beautifully positioned for easy 8 minute walk to the beach or restaurants. An absolutely brilliant holiday. Wife and self bound to return for another one. Ian.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for sea-facing room. Well worth it.

Picked this as it wasn't too steep a walk into town. Management/ staff all very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were excellent and plentiful. Honesty bar from dining area and fridge in room were lovely touches. Heaps of hot water for shower, we didn't try the bath. Beds very comfy and rooms kept very clean. One downside (maybe too strong a word) was that the room was a bit neat but I believe some of the other rooms were bigger. All in all though would definitely recommend.
