“A cut above the rest!”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

This place is an absolute gem. Recommended by friends, we took it upon ourselves to visit on our 2nd night in Camps Bay.

Staff are very professional and helpful. Upon arrival, we were taken to the main restaurant where you can pick and choose whatever fish you would like to sample. Here, you get it weighed before it is cooked so you know exactly how much you are paying. You can mix and match in order to try new fish that you may never have tasted before, while still going for a safe option in case you do not like your "unusual choice". Smashing concept!

We plumped for the calamari and some prawns to start. Absolutely divine. For mains we had a sample of King Clip, Kabeljou, Dorado and Swordfish. The flavours from all these were absolutely amazing.

One of the culinary highlights of not only our honeymoon, but any experience we have had in any restaurant anywhere in the world. Highly recommended

“Busy Restaurant”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

On our last trip to cape town we had an amazing dinner at the cod father and so when we went down this trip we made it part of our plans to go for dinner again.

We got there and the restaurant was very busy and although I had booked almost three weeks in advance for a good table, we had been seated in a very squashed corner of the restaurant.

The food this time was average, which was disappointing as we had selected our fish selections and were expecting an awesome meal.

Firstly, the prawns served to us were not nearly king size which we had selected. Then we discovered that the prawns smelt like wet dog and were off.

We reported the incident to management who advised that they were on the turn. We didn't want to ruin our holiday by eating anything else off the plate as all our fish had been cooked together. The manager took the prawns off our bill and that was pretty much that.

I will add that the food was a little overcooked when compared to our last trip.

Overall, I would rate our experience that night as average.

We definitely won't be going back when we are in Cape Town next.

“great sushi bar”

The restaurant was lively and highly recommended. The grilled calamari was excellent, but the fish was overcooked. We were disappointed because the fish was fresh and we chose the kind we wanted.

“Busy restaurant”

Great service but a bit slow as it was so busy. Excellent food but a starter is not necessary. Fantastic choice of fish and shell fish all beautifully cooked. Would go again.
