“Always excellent”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

I'm used to go for diner at the Codfather to the seafood restaurant. Always the quality is on the top. Service efficient and friendly. Waiter even may recommend you or not a fish.
Saturday is maybe not the best day to go because too many people and service may saturate a little bit.
Fr sure the best address if Camps Bay.

“Interesting Concept”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Everyone suggested the Codfather, so off we went! Very hectic dining room with lots of buzz. The server introduces you to the seafood bar, where all the options are laid out. Pick what you want! Very cool. The food arrived and was quite tasty. Left feeling full and satisfied, but not "wowed." Good people watching.

“Best seafood AND best salad!”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

You can't go wrong with this restaurant. If you are staying in Camps Bay (or not), do not miss it while you are in Capetown. The seafood is laid out beautifully and patiently explained to you so you can choose what you want for frilling or sauteeing etc. And when it arrives, you can't fault a single thing! What blew us away was how excellent the accompanying salad was. Hard to explain, you have to try it for yourself.

“Fresh fresh very fresh fish and shellfish!”
Reviewed February 1, 2013 via mobile

There are no menus at this restaurant. You just go to the case and pick out the type and amount of fish you want and they grill everything right then. For sides you can choose fries, rice or steamed veggies or all three. That's it.

Not exactly fine dining but fast, excellently prepared SUPER-FRESH fish. Added bonus, we were in and out in less than an hour.

“Simple but Very Good”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

480 Trip Advisor reviewers can't be wrong and Codfather is undoubtedly an excellent fish restaurant. The formula is an excellent one and our selections (Calamari, Cape Salmon, Kingklip and an imported Vietnamese fish) all seemed very fresh and were beautifully cooked, and were accompanied by excellent sauces. Vegetables were also good. Wine prices, however, can be described as very high, even for Cape Town / Camps Bay. BYO might be a clever option.
