The chalets are very basic but clean and comfortable. We however went at a time of year we wished there was a fire place inside the rooms. The views are breathtaking and the silents is fantastic. We were only there for one night but definitely worth a longer stay. We did a night drive and saw loads of buck, jackal. Wild cat, a hare! There is a restaurant if you choose not to cook dinner. Lovely place and a place that needs to be on every South Africans bucket list. Great for kids as they can ride their bikes or play outside without any worries. Unfortunately it does lack babysitters so don't expect a night off.

We stopped over from Cape Town to Pretoria. We had a lovely six sleeper unit with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The unit was clean and well furnished. We saw a good amount of Zebra, Springbuck and other animals. We were surprised to find out that the park now has 10 Kgalagadi lions that were brought there. Next time we will definitely stay longer so that we can find those lions! Wow!

We stopped here overnight with our friends on the way from Jo'burg to Cape Town, arriving late in the afternoon. After reporting at reception we drove to our cottage, one of a small group set in the middle of stunning mountain scenery. Central living room/kitchen with a bedroom, each sleeping 3 with an en-suite, off each side. Low sparse bush and lots of bird life. After a really good dinner at the restaurant we came out to an amazing night-sky full of stars. In the morning we had a good breakfast and saw kudu, zebra and ostrich as we made our way back to the entrance.
The accomodation was comfortable and well equipped and there was obviously more to do and see within the park, so we could easily have enjoyed a longer stay.

Even if you do not see animals, the scenery is exceptional. We did see animals though, but they are sparse. (For example: we did see more animals in Addo NP, but Addo NP is not as beautiful). Part of the NP is only for 4X4 cars. Keep this in mind.

We entered the park just after 16:00 (4 pm) on Saturday afternoon and knew we had to be out by 19:00 (7 pm). The guy at the gate was super-friendly. Not unsual for parks people; but nice nevertheless.
We decided to do the circular trip in a counter-clockwise. The next time I might do it in reverse. We saw plenty animals, e.g. springbok, zebra, kudu and oryx. We passed 2 cars going in the opposite direction and were overtaken by another during our 2 1/2 hour trip.
We had planned to see the fossils and the museum at the end of our trip; but as it was getting late, we will have to leave these for the next time.
