Arriving at Bantry Bay guesthouse was a little like arriving home. Ed is a welcoming and charming host that immediately makes his guests feels at home. This pace is spotlessly clean and the interior done with great taste and charm. I loved my stay here and it's a quiet quest house where you get away from the city noise but yet you are within walking distance from everything. The best about this guest house is that its a completely Smoking Free House!!! Bravo!

I have to say it was one of the best mattresses I have slept on in years. Outside the back yard is cost to sit and have a coffee in the morning. Bantry Bay Guests house is absolute great value for money and It's a place I would return to again and again! Thank you Ed and I’ll be back! Len

I keep returning to Alan and Ed's lovely guesthouse every year since 2007! It is perfectly located in Cape Town's safest and most scenic neighborhood. It is simple but comfortable, impeccably maintained, and probably the best value in town! From there, public transport takes you everywhere you need to go,and you can walk down to Sea Point where shops, supermarkets, restaurants and banks cater to all your material needs.
Finally it is peacefull, friendly and created for people with relaxation in mind. The hosts will help you make the most of your holiday, leaving you alone when you want it,or giving you advice should you require it. Highly recommended to quiet singles and couples of all ages and nationalities :-)

My wife and i live in Beijing-what we wanted was a quiet;clean area and at Bantry Bay this is exactly what we got! Bus routes to town and the Waterfront are nearby-as well as a beautiful coastline for walking.
Ed made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to help us when we needed information-(such as a Shuttle Bus recommendation and where to find things!)he also lives at the property;which always was spotlessly clean!Often we used the cosy and homely kitchen to eat our meals where we had use of the fridge and microwave.
We also loved the little enclosed patio with the cactus plants! We stayed in the outside room with en-suite shower facilities. It was cosy;like having our own little den for ten days!
The shops are only a few minutes' walk down the hill;and the tour bus pick up point is also nearby.Walking to the popular Clifton beaches from the guesthouse made for great walking trips.
Ed even offered to wash our clothes for us;and use of the Internet was great!
The only minor problem we had was with the water pressure in the shower;which Ed identified and sorted it out straight away.We will definitely be back to stay when we return to Cape Town again!

If you are looking for a quiet place to stay in a safe neighborhood that is conveniently located, this guesthouse is ideal. Not only is it a close walk to local shops and public transportation, it's very easy to navigate around town from Bantry Bay, which is a quick shot to the V & A Waterfront and the President's Hotel stop on the hop-on/hop-off Red Bus Tour.

The house itself is charming and beautifully furnished and decorated, all of it by hand with a nice personal touch. Ed is super friendly, helpful, and always obliging.

Thanks for a lovely stay!! I would definitely stay here again.

Ed, one of the owners of Bantry Bay Guesthouse, is very hospitable and kind, and lives at the property. The accomodation is very clean, nicely decorated and an excellent value. Guests can have use of the microwave and fridge in the kitchen. Tea and coffee are always available for the making. This is a property for guests who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, in a nice, safe neighborhood. A public bus for a quick trip to the V&A Waterfront is a short walk from this property. Ed is able to answer any questions you have about the area, and is a lovely host. If I ever make it back to Cape Town, I will most definintely book my stay here again.

Room Tip: There is an ensuite room in the lower level, or two rooms with shared bath on the main level
