Yes, its a toll road, but the toll is very negligible. The views are well worth the rand. We drove from Cape Town southward and stopped a couple of times in order to soak up the scenery and take a few photos. You can't but help be in a good mood after taking the beautiful drive.

We’ve driven this toll road a couple of times before, and always found it to be a very worthwhile experience. The coastal views here outstrip anything that Big Sur (California) has to offer by some distance.

On this occasion though it was even better. Standing at one of the viewpoints we noticed some whales surfacing just off the shoreline. Over the next half hour we saw over a dozen of them, including some that were breaching. This was an incredible experience, with a great aerial view that outstripped anything we had seen from the boat on a special whale-watching tour out beyond Hermanus.

We did this as part of a tour. So beautiful! Definitely needs more to be done if you visit Cape Town! Very windy roads though so be prepared for that.

Toured the Cape Peninsula by car. Drove south from Cape Town to Cape of Good Hope on the Atlantic Ocean side and then back up on the Indian Ocean side. Chapman's Peak was one of the highlights of the drive. Stunning views of Hout Bay. We spotted whales on the day we went. There's a toll.

This was a phenomenal drive. It was just beautiful and one hopes that it will never end. I couldn't believe just how beautiful it was.
