Wonderful views! I would recommend doing this route before 9am, so that you can avoid touristic buses. If you are not used to driving on the right hand side, during high season it may be a good idea to hire a driver, since the road is winding and there will be touristic buses and cyclists...this way you can enjoy the view much better.

One of the places to go to Cape Town needs to go!
My tour of Chapman's peak drive was through a tour I booked along with the "Baz Bus - Day Tours"
The road was carved by the brothers Champs who capricharon in the details, all the way is of incredible beauty!

Very pleasant attractive drive on the way to visit Hout Bay. Our local host told us this had been built by Italian Prisoners of War, and pointed out the monitoring system tracking the movement of the mountain in case of rock falls. Lots of picnic areas some with WCs. Toll payable 47rand for a car, you pay for one direction but travellers from Noordhoek can go 3/4 of the way and turn around, similarly travellers from Hout Bay can pass 1/4 of the way and turn round with no charge, however it is worth doing the whole route ant stopping at least once to appreciate the views.

This a lovely relaxed drive along the cliffs of Cape Town - you will experience views like no other. Be sure to catch a sunset for an even more amazing drive.

We drove both ways just before sunset and the views are truly special. Unfortunately there is not much opportunities to stop along the way, so just drive and enjoy.

This is a beautiful drive--like the Amalfi Coast. Well worth taking if you're considering driving down the Cape Peninsula, with some stops on this drive to take photos. So beautiful if it's a sunny day, and the roads are dry!

This route is arguably one of the most beautiful routes to drive in the Western Cape. The route meanders along the cliff-face between Houtbay and Noordhoek and has a toll-fee of R 47.00 per car (subject to change). There are numerous viewing points and picnic areas where you can pull over next to the road and take beautiful photos. Also, some of the picnic areas have ablution facilities available.

A winding drive that runs along the mountain with stellar views of the coast and nearby towns. Plenty of photo opportunities and generally a great route to take towards Noordhoek/Fish Hoek. Toll was R40+ for a regular sedan.

Picturesque drive along the coast. Just be minded that the Peak closes every day at sunset which limits the time for visits unfortunately. The toll road on the way costs R47 and you can only pay with cash or SA bank card.
