“Picturesque”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

The route is best taken from Noordhoek to Hout Bay as the views are in front of you all the time and the viewing places are generally on that ocean side of the road. No matter which season you take this drive, you will gasp at the natural beauty of the ocean and mountains meeting in a photogenic masterpiece. Some slightly scary bits as you literally drive under the blasted out rock face.

“Amazing Drive!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

The most stunning drive I have ever taken. Drive safely and slowly, sit back and enjoy the view.
The terrain is hill on one side and the coast on the other. Only if you are lucky will the drive be open, as its prone to land slides. Make sure you have your camera with you, if you want to really enjoy dont be on the driving seat!
The drive leads to a peak but on the way there are beautiful spots one should stop to take pictures and enjoy. After you reach the spot, you can either pay a toll and go towards Hout Bay and to Table Mountain from the back or you can simply make a turn and avoid the toll!
The False bay views are stunning and its advisable to spend sometime in the beauty.

“Amazing Coastal Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2013

If heights bother you, don't drive this or close your eyes if you are a passenger. The coastal views are absolutely amazing. The water is turquoise blue to darker navy color and the beaches look pristine and inviting. We saw many resort towns that beckoned one to stop and relax for a few days as well as working fishing villages. If you like scenic drives, don't miss this stretch of road. Traffic the end of January seemed light. There was one delay for construction near the toll plaza, which is being relocated. Tour busses are only allowed southbound.

“Stunning view of False Bay from Chapmans Peak”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

During our holiday in Cape Town we took the famous drive along Chapmans Peak Drive. You have to pay the toll gate fees from both sides depending from which side you are coming from. But it is still worth paying the toll gate fees, to enjoy driving slowly along the coastline and enjoying the amazing views of False Bay. You may even get to see a few whales if you are patient enough to stop and look around. I encourage you to stop one of the several stop points, get out of your car and take in the breathtaking views of False Bay with the mountains in the background. Try to stop at Chapmans Peak and enjoy the views from there.

“get to the place by sunset!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

watching sunset here is really too beautiful! From here you can look at the entire mother city. The drive is also really so relaxing, there are areas where you could sit and just soak up the city of Cape Town!
