Owner description: The Valley of Waves is the central feature of the Lost City at Sun City. It is one of the most advanced water parks in the world, dominated by the Roaring Lagoon. When waves are not generated, a bobbing cycle is generated in a diamond pattern. All Resort residents enter the park free of charge by presenting their resident cards. “Crowded with Teens, Noisy Fun.”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

There's a lot of things going on in the Valley. From snacks & sweet shops to all the water activities. Avoid weekend if you can, as the area can be filled with too many teenagers and kids. The music was the same everyday, and it was loud.

The wave was ok, but the highlight for us was the temple of courage. It felt like a free-fall roller coaster ride down the water. A little scary, but makes you want to keep on doing it.

Entry is free for all hotel guests. Towel was free with a refundable deposit when we stayed at the Palace. Not sure about other hotels though.

“Go when there are not many people around”

Certainly a unique experience, and the waterslides are great family fun, but a man-made "ocean" can't compare to the real thing:). Can get very crowded.
