We have just returned from a trip to Sun City, South Africa. My wife have loved and cherished every second.. from feeding Elephants, taking safaris and balloon flights in Pilanesberg National Park, to taking in a traditional African BBQ..massages..segway tours..Feeding Lion Cubs..you name it, they have it. The Hotel is incredible..the staff are incredibly friendly and the country is to die for...A very relaxing time and in my book a much better holiday experience than Dubai. Highly recommended. PS ask for Gift the Gametrackers Ranger ...he was fantastic! Stay at the palace to receive free Resort transport in a Mercedes.

Having spent the early part of our SA trip in the Cape, we flew up to Jo'burg hired a car and drove up to Sun City for a couple of nights stay at the Lost City. The drive was fairly long and not a great deal of scenery, but well worth it as you finally arrive at Sun City, a real oasis in the desert!

Wtaying in a standard room (more than good enough with lovely views over the pool and gardens!) good size with sofa and huge bed, as well as lovely big bathroom with seperate shower and bath. At around £500 per night ot the cheapest, but for a couple of nights ok (I think if staying for longer maybe just have a night at the Palace and then maybe move to the Sun City Hotel which is still very nice). On the plus side using the palace you do have special access to the gardens etc which other hotel guests do not have, and also chauffeur driven Mercedes to whisk you aroung the resort rather than the fairly hot and crammed buses.

Breakfast was a stunning colonial affair, with live pianist/harpist each morning and a massive spread of hot and cold food. A beautiful setting both inside the impressive dining room, although nicer on the terrace outside.

Well worth a visit!

Room Tip: Balconies overlooking the pool the best rooms, one or two nights more than enough

Hi there, this hotel is gorgeous, it really is outstanding. It is expensive yes, but a must do for a night or two if in the area. The rooms are nice, not absolutely breathtaking, well least the standard rooms, but very very good indeed. The hotel itself is gorgeous, from the architecture to the fittings, the atmosphere is one of opulence but you can also be very down to earth and enjoy it. You really do feel like royalty staying there. The facilities and service are very good, the private pool overlooking the valley waves is in a lovely setting (there is another big pool as well) and the breakfast is out of this world, best spread I've ever come across, the variety is outstanding. Really fancy, treat yourself !

I don't know if every guest is treated as we were, but my wife and I felt like a king and queen in our own palace. The buildings and grounds are spectacular. The staff were wonderful, and exceeded our expectations. We unknowingly met the general manager during our walk around the property and asked for directions. He could not have been more gracious, and took time to tell us about his favorite walks, which turned out to be a great experience. Sabrina Fick, the Executive Floor Manager, was very helpful and made sure we were well cared for during our stay. If you are traveling to Johannesburg, So. Africa for safari or business a side trip to the Palace should be on your itinerary.

Amazing food - most amazing breakfast i have ever had.
Amazing Service
Beautiful rooms
great activities
always something to do
very clean
not too expensive compared to victoria falls
one complaint - shower did not work properly - it went hot and cold very fast, to be fair we never gave them the chance to fix it, but at $600 USd a night, it should have worked!

Room Tip: Great palace - worth the money!
