We spent a week here. The kids loved the wild animals all around and playing in the Pool (the Presidential Suite comes with a private pool and a bed swing over the private pool house for game viewing or gazing at stars. The kitchen / wet bar was fully stocked and included. Close to Sun City, we enjoyed the wave pool and slides there as well. The food was always tasty and fresh. Love the smell of the thatch roofs and felt very much like we were 'in the bush' yet with a lot of creature comforts.

Room Tip: The Presidential Suite was a good value with 2 bedrooms so the kids (8 and 10) could share one while...

We checked into the Lt General Baden Powell Suite, not knowing what to expect. Boy, what a treat!
We entered into this beautiful living room which included a dining section and an exquisite bar. All around us were genuine antiques - furniture, carpets, paintings, photographs, as well as the silver tea-set at the bar!
Through the glass doors we saw this beautiful blue pool set out in the courtyard. A chilled bottle of Champagne awaited us at the poolside!
On further investigation we realized that we had our very own private machan (wildlife viewing tower) too, behind the pool. We were fortunate to get good sightings early next morning, while having tea!
The bedroom and bath area were equally well furnished, including a good sized jaccuzi. The entire ambience was wonderful. And at such an attractive price!
The morning Safari was very enjoyable. We saw a reasonable variety of Wildlife. Came back and headed for our Spa treatments. What a life!
But as we all know, all good things must come to an end. Thank you Kedar!

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night for the Micheal Buble concert and it was way below the standard of a 4 star hotel. The room was dark, dingey, smelly and old. The sheet was too small for the bed, the towels stunk like chemicals, the bathroom door did not close properly, the shower door didn't close at all. The tv in the room was old and fuzzy. The bed was comfy but we were not convinced as to the cleanliness of the linen. Oh and there was a big dead spider on the bathroom wall, how was this not spotted by the cleaners when we could clearly see it?

We had booked for massages at the spa, what a waste of money. The worst massage I have ever had, it was more like a tickle even after asking the therapist to push harder, and my hair kept getting caught in her watch strap!

The food at the bar and the restaurant was very good, however we found the staff in the bar to be very unprofessional as they shouted to each other in their own language right in front of us.

I must say that the lady who greeted us at reception was lovely and made us feel like we were going to have an excellent stay. Too bad that was where it ended.

We will never return to this 2 star hotel again!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights last week. Like many other reviewers we had to wait for our room, despite arriving after the check in time and despite there being very few (if any) other people staying there. The deluxe room was OK but very dark. We thought the hotel grounds and pool area pleasant. Our biggest gripe was the staff service. We were told on arrival that there would be a buffet dinner for R180 pp, we asked if we had to book and were told this was not necessary. We later discovered that because there were so few residents, there would be no buffet and we were directed to the bar food which was very limited. We took it but it was poor quality. The following evening, having been out to eat, we found the bar area and internet area completely closed up by 9.15pm. Breakfast was also very poor. We asked to eat outside and had to reset our own table despite the fact that there were plenty of staff hanging around. Lastly the staff seemed to drag noisy bins around late at night and very early in the morning. Having lived in South Africa and since visited on many occasions, this is the first hotel that I would NOT return to and was extremely disappointed with.

Room Tip: I think you will find that all the rooms are dark.

The hotel is located close to Sun City which was the main reason we have booked kedar country club. But trust me, that was our biggest mistake.

Problem with the hotel is with the attitude and service from the staff. The reception female (OWTENG) was extremely rude / sarcastic and will actually laugh at our problems instead of helping. This happend to the guest who entered along with us. The room was given out to us 1 hour late after their actual check in time that was at 2. and after that there was no sign of apology jus complete rudeness!.

The room is like a old cave, lets put it in 3 (d's) DARK - DIRTY - DISASTER. the washroom is not seperate, furniture is old cracking. Breakfast is strictly average.

The hotel is located around 15 km away from Sun City. You have to drive alot inwards and parking will be near the reception. walk the way back to your room, which are very identical and be confusing to find at night.

For the amount you pay, please do yourself a favor and book a room either in sun city or somewhere else.

I made a reservation for myself and business colleagues, I requested Three Twin rooms -SINGLE BEDS - I did the initial reservation online and afterwards had my PA and wife confirm that the rooms will be as requested. Great was my annoyance when we arrived at 23h30 Friday 16 April to find that our rooms had double beds. I was humiliated when the night auditor (Cosmos Gate) insinuated that I had made the mistake when making the reservation.

We booked at Kedar for the sum of R900 per person per night. The accomodation was not what was on the website and the room was classed as a supperior room. This is not what we found. For that amount of money you can stay in much better accomodation counntry wide. The TV reception was poor, there is almost nothing in the room. Curtain rails and curtains were not only skew, but the low budget factor was blatant! The bathroom cupboards looked dreadfull, not even to mention the ceilings. We feel ripped off to say the least. There was no one to show us to our room, we showed ourselves.
I strongly advise that you make sure what you are getting before paying!
