I wanted to suprise hubby with a nice father's day gift, but was myself suprise when hubby suggested to rather spend the weekend away than at home.
I jump to this idea as father's day fell over a long weekend and that meant we could sleep in. We would arrive at the hotel Saturday morning and return the Monday afternoon no rush and no driving in peak traffic.
I contacted the hotel ready to hear they are fully booked, but much to my supprice i was told they still had rooms available. I booked a luxury room but also ask for a room away from any hotel traffic and staff entrances, due to previous experience at another hotel.
On our arrival we recieved a warm welcome from the ladies at reception that made us feel at home right away. They ask if we wanted to join them for the father's day luch and since it was a father's day weekend we booked a table.
Our room no 25 was very close to reception and the boma area and we expected to be kept awake all night with people waking pass but to our suprise it was very quite and you hardly heard people passing by. The hotel has a turn down service at night and in the winter hot chocolate and a small chocolate is place on the tea tray to enjoy when returning from dinner.
In the early hours of the mornings we woke up by the sounds of monkeys playing in the trees next to our room, a very pleasant sound if you grew up in the city.
The grounds are well maintained and the hotel provide a large variety of things to do especially for the young ones. For the ladies and gents that enjoy a spa treatment you can pop in at the spa and be pamper. For those adrenalin junkeys they can always book to go on the canopy tour. This is something i will highly recomend (me and hubby done the canopy tour previously and that is how we stumble across this pretty coisy hotel) and this is not for only the young ones if you still young at heart and still up for a joy ride then this is the definately for you.
If you take a stoll around the grounds you will definately came across the monkeys and apes playing in the trees and also on the grass next to the swimming pool. I recommend you keep a camera handy as they are always up to something.
The food was once again profesionaly done and there was a very large variety to choose from, if you hungry afterwards then you either have a huge worm or you just miss dinner, lunch or breakfast.
The sjeff was constantly out in the front to check on his food and to ensure there is enought for the guest to enjoy. To me this is great becasue your job do not stop when it leaves the kitchen it stops when all the guest have left and your plates return empty.
I will defenitaly recomend this hotel to anyone who just wants to get away and just relax and be pampered.
Sparkling Waters you have a excellent staff and manager and you doing a great job of keeping it that way.
