We wanted to tour some of the historical sights around and within Kimberley. Finding Langberg on TA was a bonus and proves once again that ratings are statistical. Go with the recent reviews rather. While our room could have done with some minor renovations, it had all we needed, was clean, comfortable and the hot water worked. This is my books is what a hotel room is about, does it work for me. As a jumping off point for a historical road trip through the northern Cape it was the perfect spot. Out of town, quiet, friendly staff, adventurous pot luck dinners (which in my view were a tad over priced), old style farm breakfasts which last you the whole morning and great northern Cape scenery. If you walk up the koppie (small hill) at the back of the main building you might be lucky to spot some wildlife such as roan, sable, buffalo, red lechwe or kudu. Travelling between major centres, this spot would be a great overnight stop. All in all a good stay. I would go back again.

Room Tip: You scan either stay in the converted stables and be adventurous with pot luck dinners or stay in th...

Langberg was recommended to us by previous guests and we were not disappointed. We spent one night here on our way back to Johannesburg from Cape Town. The room in 'Die Stalle" was big with an adequate bathroom en suite although I prefer a shower the bath was in keeping with the old farm style. My only issue was that the heating in the room was not functioning that well and it was a particularly cold snap. Breakfast was fine and the service very welcoming and friendly.

I stayed here when driving from Knysna to Joburg. It is an excellent location for those passing through Kimberley (which the town itself is nothing special). The farm has a beautiful setting and a walk to the top of the koppies early morning should not be missed for wildlife and incredible karoo views. I do accept it was low season when I stayed but the food (dinner and breakfast) was the low point - it was uninspired and I heard the distinctive 'ping' of the microwave at dinner. I would return as a great place to stop off though.

Having been turned away from basically every guest house, hotel, B&B, what have you in Kimberley, because of a large conference, a kind owner from the Carrington Inn went out of his way to find us a miracle of a room at the Langberg Guestfarm.

Situated 22kms out of Kimberley, my partner and I couldn't believe our luck to be staying in such a beautiful place, and in such an idyllic setting. We got there pretty late so didn't check out the various game trails, but we did go for a quick walk about and ran into some grazing impala.

Rooms nicely appointed, with comfy bed, little kitchenette and good bathroom.

Staff were super friendly and breakfast was pretty good.

Really reasonable and def worth a stay!

Stayed at Langberg Guestfarm for 3 nights while visiting my elderly Mother in Kimberley. We wanted to enjoy the bushveld and 'Africa' as we no longer live in South Africa, and found this to be the BEST choice. The rooms are nicely appointed in old style South African decor, with private bath. Very clean and neat. We were warmly welcomed and felt like they could not do enough for us. We choose to eat breakfast there and had 2 dinners. Great home cooked meals - felt like we had our own personal chef! The last evening they set our dinner table outside with a small lantern - how romantic! The last morning we woke up to several buck/antelope right outside our bedroom window (Impala & Nyala family) see photo's attached. We could never have gotten that close on any game drive!! How special! We also felt very safe there. Would stay there again anytime!
