We booked this venue for our December holiday back in July when we had a pit stop stay-over.

Everything was fantastic and met our expectation. We stayed in the family chalet (Gogo's Cottage) where all the amenities are well kept, with air con and new.

Breakfast runs like clockwork and the patio garden was our favourite spot. The hosts are friendly, warm and very accommodating.

The lodge was our home base for touring the Nelspruit region. The Kruger Park, Sodwala caves and Botanical Garden were the big highlights - the lodge is perfectly situated with quick access.

Will definitely be back :-). Thanks for a great time.

This was a great surprise, and a very quiet place. We surely recommend!
For people comming from Mozambique, and/ou with plans to shop in Nelspruit or visit the Kruger park, and rest awhile, is a very good option.

We arrived later than we planned, and had to drive on some very unnerving African roads in the rain after dark. All four of us couldn't wait to get to the White House Lodge, where we could relax after a long day of travel. We had some snacks with us, and just wanted to relax in our room if we could perhaps buy a little cheese from our host. After experiencing the wonderful hospitality all over South Africa, we were a little surprised when Susann didn't even consider our request. Instead she gave us instructions to a place to eat back down that long driveway, and back down that dark and rainy road. It was a good meal, but took a very long time to eat, and we would have really preferred a more welcome at our lodge. We stayed in the family room with four adults. We had one double bed, one twin bed, and another bed that was some size in between. We slept well. The shower was only a trickle of water, and took a very long time to get hot water. The temperature of the shower kept varying. It was good to see shampoo provided, and this was one of the few place in South Africa that provided a washcloth. The towels were very nice. The next morning we were served a wonderful breakfast. We thought there was only cold foods, and we were enjoying the fresh pineapple, guava, cereal, toast, cold meats, and cheese. Then we were asked if we wanted eggs and bacon too. It was still raining lightly the next morning, but we spent a little time looking over the beautiful outdoor facilities. I wish we could have used them, but the cool and rainy weather kept us indoors. I know that Susann was struggling with a cold, so I hope the lack of hospitality we felt was not usual.

We arrived at White House Lodge in the middle of a thunderstorm by the proprietor carrying umbrellas to us in our vehicle after we were buzzed in from the gate. She was equally attentive in all other regards as well, attending to our comfort and getting us into our room, giving advice on dinner options, leaving a battery-powered lamp just inside our door as we were out for dinner (the storm had turned off electricity briefly) and making sure the very good breakfast buffet was all in order. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. We only stayed one night, but I would be happy to stay there in the future for a multiple-day visit enjoying local attractions, including Kruger. Only one thing is strange: the website describes the Nelspruit Airport being the local airport more than 20 km away. However, WH Lodge is actually about a ten-minute drive away from the Kruger-Mpumalanga Airport, which is quite a pleasant small airport.

Our stay at White House Lodge in November 2013 was gorgeous! Everything was perfect. The only thing my wife and me felt sorry about was that our stay was too short - three nights only. We wish it could have been a week at least! And we started to dream of returning to White House Lodge the moment we left for home. Thanks a lot and please keep up your highest standards!!!
