“pleasant place, but with noise!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014

We stayed at two different apartments in L:ittle Eden. Both were very well equiped, clean and pleasant. Booking, communication and service during our stay were all fine. Price very decent. View from the large apartment excellent. Location good, in a very quiet neighbourhood.
But.... in the smaller apartment we were woken up, each morning, by wortkers who painted and repaired on the outside. Not only an unpleasant thought that there were people on ladders on the other side of the window, but an unpleasant reality that they talked, at 7.30...
This was really the only downside, though a serious one. With a bit of planning the paintwork could and should be carried out later in the day, ot not so close to the bedroom window.
The larger apartment has 3 bedrooms, but only one small AC for the living room..

Room Tip: take the topfloow apartment if you are with 6 or more.

Dearest Martin and Family

Thank you for the beautiful compliments. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to accommodate you again in the near future!

We are terribly sorry for the loud noise of the workers so early in the morning. The workers are only supposed to start their work from 09:00. I know that it is awful to be woken up like that in the morning. Please do except my apologies. When you visit us again we will give you a Full English Buffet breakfast on the house.

We enjoyed having you as our guests and can't wait to see you again!

Have a wonderful day and send our regards
Heila, Amanda and Bianca

This is a perfectly located spot for research around the St Lucia mouth and narrows region. There is enough space in the lounge and on the porch to run one's experiments. The yard is also big enough for both a trailer and a boat in addition to the car. Aside from the bad lighting in the kitchen (not conducive to crab or snail dissections without an additional light source), this research station away from home is any biologist dream.

We stayed at the Ndlovu unit over the weekend.

the pros of the accommodation:
1. kitchen was very well equiped
2. unit was tastefully decorated
3.unit was spacious

the cons:
1. MISREPRESENTATION

i sent an email to Bianca asking if both the rooms were airconditioned, her response yes all our units are fully airconditioned. imagine how upset I was to get the in 40 degree heat only to find 1 airconditioner in the lounge which didn't even cool the rooms. Dishonesty is not the foundation to do business.

2. BEDDING

for an establishment with such high ratings and that prides itself on luxury accommodation, the bedding was horrible. the duvet was extremely thin( almost like a sheet) and the sheets were old to the point were you couldnt even sleep on them, they actually felt sandy.

3. Cleaning

the cleaning staff came in to clean and didnt carry a single detergent, they wiped down the place, no detergents were used in the toilet or the bathrooms.

Bottom line : i wouldnt stay here again, for me the main reason I booked here is because i assumed it was airconditioned and dishonest emtablishments have no place., besides there are many other establishments which are much more reasonable and have more to offer.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the positive and kind remarks you made about Little Eden. It is much appreciated.

I however would like to disagree with you on a few things. First of all - St Lucia has never reached temperatures of 40 degrees. When you made the booking, you were told that the units are air conditioned. This is in fact exactly what you received. There is no dishonesty from our side - the photos and information on our website is 100% accurate.
As far as the horrible bedding is concerned - we use summer duvets in the summer. It is now summer. As you yourself said, it was very hot so a thick duvet makes absolutely no sense. The sheets are 250 thread count cotton percale. You will not find this at any other self catering establishment. Very few guests houses even use such expensive linen.
You were quoted an amount of R370 per person but insisted that you were quoted R330. We have never charged such a rate and it not advertised on any internet site either. Yet we only charged you R330.
We receive high ratings because we deserve it and we pride ourselves on luxury accommodation because it is true.
I am really sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us, and also that you would never return - but maybe that is better because we cannot do anything more to keep you happy in any case.
Have a lovely day and I hope next time you make a booking somewhere else you will be happy.

Regards
Amanda

The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. This is a real gem of a place, and we will certainly be back!
St Lucia also has a number of very good restaurants to choose from - we chose not to cook, although the apartment had self-catering facilities.
The pool area is lovely, with a partial view of the ocean.
Perfect location for anyone in dire need of a relaxing getaway.

The hostess, Bianca, is warm and welcoming. She does her best to make guests feel at home. Ms Heila is also friendly and welcoming. We stayed in Mpisi, a well-appointed unit which has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen (very well equipped), dining room and lounge/tv room. It was clean, spacious and very nicely furnished, with the pool five steps away from our door. Mpisi has a lovely view over the wetlands and a distant sea view. Wifi was sketchy, but everything else ok. We even had a hippo family visit us when we were sitting under the lapa on new year's eve! Little Eden is in a quiet area of St Lucia, thank goodness, but all the shops and other amenities are within walking distance, and safe. We spent seven days, did most of the St Lucia activities on offer, but really just wanted to rest. Would return to Little Eden :). Verna

We spent 2 nights in the Ndlovu self-catering unit. We couldn't find fault with anything at all - the unit and furnishings were in great condition, and there was a lot of space.

The accommodation itself was not a destination though. While St Lucia is pleasant and relaxing, there isn't much to Little Eden that would make you remember it. There is a decent pool and boma with a view across the forests, but the hippo trails don't come across the property itself, unlike some of the other options in St Lucia.

Just be aware that the wifi in the units is only free for the first 30 minutes. You have to go to the reception to use the rest of the wifi.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for the compliments and the kind words. I am very glad you liked Little Eden!
It is a pity that you did not see any Hippo's when you were here. As we border on the wetlands we are one of the most popular spots for Hippo's to visit. Our guests report sightings in the garden almost every morning. As our pool borders the wetlands, they love drinking water from our swimming pool. It really is a pity that you did not get to see this spectacular sight.

I thank you once again for the kind words and maybe if you come to Little Eden again you will be lucky to see some Hippo's in our garden.

Regards
Amanda

Very spacious and clean apartment. The hostesses are very friendly! You can have a nice breakfast in the next door (related) accommodation. Pool is spacious and has a beautiful location. The main street where you can eat well is a 2 min drive (good prices!). Recommended to stay in St. Lucia.
