Good value (a ton of food for R37, or about US$4) but it felt like a chain restaurant. We did enjoy lunch on the terrace -- guess everyone else was on the hippo tour. Perhaps the place hops at night! Service was attentive and competent -- fish and chips were just fine if not too much food! Could order beef from the Braza menu if you felt like it -- conjoined restaurants. Wish we had dined out at Alfredo's!

When people heard I was going to Hluhluwe area, they said I must go to the Ocean Basket in St Lucia. They were right. It is the BEST!. the staff were very friendly too and interacted with us on our animal viewing.

We loved the choice; the quality of the food and ate there 3 nights in a row. Even when we went to sister-and-neighbouring restaurant, Brava (also good), some of us ordered the seafood from Ocean Basket as it had been so good the previous night. Go! You won't regret it. (King Prawns to die for)

Ocean basket has lost its edge in St Lucia with sister company Braza showing it up in the quality of food. Nothing special but an average meal. Some of the dishes are pretty good but you will need to have been here a few times before to know what you need to order. If you have had sushi in a proper sushi place dont order it here you will be dissapointed.

This was our last try with fish in South Africa and finally we got something decent and corresponding to the expectations coming from a very affordable chain restaurant.
Fish and seafood is ordinary, not bad nor exiting, but reasonable. Not mixed ab initio with all sort of sauces - that are served as an aside -. The greek salad is also reasonable (still, feta is not really feta, but much better than others I tried in Saint Lucia), vegetables are cut the right way, the seasoning is real olive oil and oregano. We also dared to get a desert - a greek desert, the kadaifi -. It was ok, I was expecting worse.
The restaurant is cheap, service is good and you can eat on the terrace all year long. Probably the best in Saint Lucia.
