“Family Holiday”

We have recently returned from our second visit to Macadamia Lodge, this time with family from England. The accommodation in two separate cottages was perfect for our needs, allowing us privacy but close enough to easily get together. The hospitality shown by the owners was amazing and their patience with my grandchildren admirable. Thank you Lucy, Pat, Tim & Kevin for an unforgettable holiday.

We had a very pleasant stay at Macademia Lodge and I can definitely recommend this lodge if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing environment. Located outside all the hectic, surrounded by mango and macadamia trees you will find two very comfortable lodges. We stayed with 5 adults and 3 children and this was comfortable enough. The only downfall was that the air-conditioning of the small lodge wasn’t working and it does get warm and humid in St Lucia. Besides that we can only be positive about the accommodation and the owners!

Macadamia Lodge was everything we expected and more. In fact we enjoyed it so much we are already making plans to return next year with family who will be visiting from overseas. As a senior couple the place was perfect, so relaxing with no pressure and clock watching - time stands still! But the lodge is also ideal for families as there is so much to do either on the property or within easy reach. Children can run free, the grounds are huge, absolutely safe and the sparkling swimming pool is securely fenced. The cottages are very spacious, always kept clean and everything is provided for self catering. We enjoyed the B & B option and the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and always followed by leisurely, entertaining chats with our charming hosts. Thank you Lucy, Pat & Tim for your hospitality. Jan & Marjorie

It was like staying with old friends that respects your privacy and space that understands that you are with holiday. They were very informative of what was happening in town and what the attractions were. The rooms were always very clean and are very spacious. The view of nature and the golf course allows you to wake up in your own little world. We will easily stay there again.

If you are looking for somewhere to relax and really get away from it all I can highly recommend Macadamia Lodge. Not only is this an ideal place to get away from it all but its ideally located to visit some of the areas major attractions. On the doorstep is Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Big 5 Game Reserve, the seaside town of St Lucia and its World Heritage Wetlands. There is whale watching and turtle viewing plus estuary tours. I was also lucky enough to tour the farm and see the macadamia trees plus a mass of other fruits that grow on the farm. Thank you Lucy & family so much for all your help. And not forgetting breakfast and probably the best bacon in KwaZulu Natal!

We spent 3 nights at the Macadamia Lodge over the Christmas period. Lucy and her family are the most hospitable hosts you could ask for. Thorough knowledge of the are and it various activities. The accommodation is perfect if you looking for a get away from the everyday city atmosphere. Lots of activities in close vicinity to the lodge, always something to do, especially if you have kids. Hippo & Croc cruise is a must, also the bird park next door to the lodge is spectacular. I hope to stay at the Macadamia lodge again in the near future.

Small exclusive family run lodge, very safe area and lovely walking trails with great birding!
Lucy and her parents were great fun, very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful with planning activities!
The food was delicious, we had the self catering option but did manage to sneak in a lovely dinner with the family! This is a real home from home experience.
The rooms are well proportioned and beautifully decorated, peaceful and private, with lovely views and great value for money.
We had some great pool moments floating on the airbeds with our G & Ts!
We highly recommend the Yoga experience, we loved it and a beautiful setting especially as the sun goes down.

A must if you are visiting the St Lucia area! We will be back!

Room Tip: All are lovely! Small private lodge.
