“Good Comfort, Cuisine and Company - what else do you need?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2010

I cannot believe nobody has posted a review on such a lovely accomodation, possibly laziness in being the first to start the chain running with the effort of exact addresses etc maybe?

We arrived here after a travelling hiccup the previous night which required a change of accomodation as breakfast was still being served, never expected our room to be ready and waiting but as Monica had anticipated a very early arrival she had ensured a room ready she even asked us if we needed any breakfast as it was all still laid out. What a charming cosy room with every possible facility. Spotlessy clean, lovely solid furniture and a big bright bathroom. We opened the french doors on to our pation which led into the lovely manicured garden as the property encompassed 2 adjoining properties we had a choice of 2 different styles of gardems and pools but both had immediate access through gates to the nature reserve behind. Its perfectly safe to wander there too just dont ventur into the bush areas - use common sense. Best of all the pools were clean and comfortable padded sunchairs abounded with pool towels available as well.

Some may argue that as the property was towards the back of St Lucia village it might be out of the way but for someone fit and healthy its only a 10 min stroll, me I tucked walking stick under arm and got in the car. However the location means perfect peace and quiet and how more amazing can it be when the nature the resort is famous for is right at your back door.

Breakfasts were leisurely and plentiful, sitting looking over the garden and fish pond, cooked or continental whatever you fancied, lovely proper coffee too. If you were off for the day Monica would suggest you make up sandwiches from the breakfast buffet and take fruit as food was never served up again after being on display. Cool bags, ice blocks, snorkelling equipment if you needed it it was available. Evening meals were available for a true bargain price, due to exploring we only ate in on the last night but a lovely starter accompanied by homebaked bread, followed by a choice of two main dishes (help yourself to extras) and a fresh and tasty dessert sitting on an open verandah with congenial company. There was a 24 hr well stocked honestly bar at realistic prices with soft drinks too for those of us that cant often drink and a constant supply of filtered fresh water free of charge. The hall was full of brochures and books for information but you couldnt beat the advice from Monica or staff about what to do in the locality and of course there was always computer access if you needed it. Anywhere we went and told people where we were staying they would comment "oh you'll be well looked after there.

Nothing was too much trouble, as many know there is a problem with water availability in the area but everything was done to stop any inconvenience and on the one evening where water did run out due to an inconsiderate guest draining the tank Monica even threw the doors of her own flat open so any guest who had not had a hot shower could utilise her own water supply. Washing and ironing was done for a mininimal charge for the whole washload and back the same day. We would go back again like a shock and hope many more reviews will follow this as everyone staying with us said it was one of the happiest places they had stayed and indeed you felt like you had been staying with friends, ever available to help but totaly inobtrusive too. To cap it all off we drove away with a gleaming hire car cleaned and polished - no charge.

As guests we can be critical and will comment accordingly but the service we got here beat many 5* star hotels we have stayed in worldwide and the bed was amongst the comfiest ever - proof that you dont need glitz and a fat wallet to enjoy the best.
