We went on a guided Safari with EuroZulu. It was just great. Not least the guide (Jeff) was worth the tour. Very knowledgeable and experienced and just a very enjoyable person to learn to know. We did not regret we went on a guided tour. The guide knew where to find the different animals and we saw almost all the big five (we missed the Leopard) and also saw the Cheeta. If we would have gone on our own, we would probably have missed most of them.

We booked a Hluhluwe Safari Special. We were collected from our b&b at 4 am (!) and headed off for the hours drive to the game park. Our guide, Paul was extremely knowledgeable and also demonstrated a real love for the park and the wildlife. We were particularly interested in the birdlife and he was really helpful in telling us what we were seeing. We saw all of the 'Big 5' and also had great views of a cheetah, lying in the sun.

Eurozulu did not disappoint! Bookings are arranged with little fuss, there is good communication with regard to times, fees and the guides proved to be most informative and pleasant...the great part is that you are collected from your holiday accommodation!
We undertook several tours with this company, the first being the Turtle Tracking tour guided by Jens [spelling] which as a result of the weather turned out to be quite an adventure! Travelling by night in the pouring rain for 32kms to Cape Vidal seemed to take forever and unfortunately there was not much info from our guide along the way...again weather played a pert here...the 28km trip across the dunes was alot more fun and we were fortunate enough to see a loggerhead digging but this particular female seemingly had a problem as she had been spotted digging several times that week but without managing to lay...this time too...at least we got a good look ..even though getting thoroughly drenched in the pouring rain. We'd like to do this again in better weather...
Our day trip to Cape Vidal guided by Zimane was superb - what an entertaining, informative and extremely accommodating guide! Wow, he blew us away with the lengths that he would go to to ensure that we saw game by taking every loop through the eastern shore of the wetlands, visited hides, provided a tasty braai lunch [complete with tablecloth on the picnic table] and sought out the Samango monkeys....which he told us were far more 'polite' than the more common vervet monkeys who had swarmed upon us at lunch [only to be professionally discouraged by Zimane]..a fabulous day out despite the fact that we couldn't do any snorkelling due to the poor visibility of the water. Definitely recommend the trip...and Zimane!!!
The last trip was a sunset drive guide by 'Skip'..[not his real name]..who took us across to the Eastern shores of the Wetlands. He was also very informative and went to great lengths to show us the many diverse aspects of the fauna and flora of the Park despite the weather!! He got sopping wet as he climbed in and out of the tour vehicle to chat to all of us about this or that...certainly was far better than just sitting and driving through the rain...we got the best out of the tour by a guide that was happy to experience a little discomfort for our benefit!

We took a Turtle Tour as a family of four. I regarded it as risky as this is a lot of time (and cost) to take in the hope that we will see Turtles.
As it was, Lens (apologies of mis-spelt) was a superb guide and we successfully seen 2 Loggerheads. The setting, the sounds of the ocean and the thrill of it all was superb and one of our top highlights of our holiday in SA.

It's very rare to see a TA rating as hight as this one, and I quickly learned why. Our guide Paul was on time, very professional and extremely knowledgeable. This was my first safari and I kept my expectations low. Nearly all outfitters promote the "Big Five" experience and I would have been happy to see just two. In the first 15 minutes of the drive, we saw impala, cape buffalo, zebra, black rhino and giraffe. After breakfast, we saw wildebeest, kudu, baboons, and warthogs. Paul made it a point to not only show us the big animals, but also the smaller creatures such as dung beetles, turtles, frogs, weaver birds, and hawks. His admiration and respect for the animals was well-noted. Hluhluwe had received a lot of rain in the past 10 weeks so the park was very green and was alive with grazing animals and many had just given birth. After a delicious outdoor braai lunch, we observed a lioness perched in a tree (rare behavior) and elephants chowing down on the foliage. My safari experience with Euro Zulu was the highlight of my trip.
