It is more than interesting to hear all about the chimpanzees that are living here. Poor animals - good to know thar they are safe now!

“Excellent Learning Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2014

My apologies to the wonderful people at this Chimpanzee Sanctuary for the late review. Blame it on too much to do in a short period of time.

While I believe that all animals should be free to live within their natural environmental conditions, this sanctuary has given the chimpanzees a second chance that they would not have otherwise had. The guides are knowledgeable and truly enjoy working with the chimps. And the chimps themselves are not only intelligent, but thriving in this environment.

Kudos to the people who work at this sanctuary and make it the best environment for animals who needed a second chance. I would recommend that you plan on spending 3 hours or a little bit more at this attraction.

“Escape to Chimp Eden!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2014

I had seen the television show: "Escape to Chimp Eden" on the Animal Planet (now available from Amazon) and was thrilled to see the chimpanzees I had learned about on the show "live and in person" and doing so well! Their stories are heart breaking, but, because of Chimp Eden, these primates have been given another chance at life. Chimp Eden is inspirational and yes! I bought t shirts and trinkets, bought lunch in the restaurant, paid my admission and was happy to give an additional donation to help these awesome creatures!! A very small price to pay to support this amazing "Eden"!!!

“Essential refuge for our endangered cousins”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2014

It's not ideal to see Chimpanzees in captivity but this sanctury is very well run with the right intentions. Our guide (Mark I think) had worked with Chimps all his life and was very knowledgeable. These sancturies offer the best hope for re-stocking wild populations of chimps and this has recently been done with some success (though not from this sanctury just yet).
Given how threatened these animals are now I think it is essential that people support this work by visiting this sanctury. You won't be disappointed and its very good value for money compared with some of the other attractions on offer in the area.
We went with our 3 year old boy and he loved it.
