This hotel it was the perfect choice, first because is not inside of the park, but you are in the entrance of it. Rooms are very good, you're able to find some animals (mainly one or two spiders in the toilet), but you are in the middle of nature, never forget. If you don't want to see it, just decide a different destination. Food is really good, the safari was wonderful, and they prepared for us lunch boxes in our last day. Nice and friendly staff. Congratulations!

I am pretty shocked at some of the overwhelmingly positive reviews about the staff here. We are generally quite laid back about small things on holidays, but never have we stayed anywhere with such rude staff! We stayed for just two nights, and I knew it wasn't going to be the most luxurious place, but it is extremely basic and lacking. I will give credit to the food which is okay, basically exactly what you pay for - nothing more, nothing less. The views were great but there is little to no ambiance anywhere (there is a really bizarre veranda which is a HUGE space with just a few tables...nothing else.) staff were unhelpful and generally rude despite the fact that we were tipping generously. We went to sit down for breakfast, and wanting to sit at a table facing the river - which had used coffee cups on it , which is no problem, we were happy to move them - the employee said "why don't you sit at the table without cups?" I even offered to move them myself and he actually rolled his eyes at me, pushed me away and grabbed the cups.

I went to see about getting our bill for lunch, and the waiter was sat at the bar on his phone, and sincerely looked annoyed when I asked him if I could pay.

The place itself is exactly what you pay for, nothing too fancy or luxurious at all - it would have been a four star hotel in about 1991, but now it's most definitely no more than a three star at best.

Outstanding place to stay. Help full staff. There is a fine view from the terrace over crocodile river, and believe me the is crocodile and hippos ind it. But standing there and watch the sundown, and se Elephant, and buffalo coming down to drink. That is so! Just by weighting this, is giving me goosebumps.

We stayed here in the executive rooms that overlooked the river, hippos and elephants visited more than once fantastic!!!

The rooms were well furnished and serviced, a short stroll to the bar and the pool. We found the staff to be excellent, courteous and helpful and always cheerful, such a refreshing change to some hotels.

Manager was always around and interested in feedback of stay and provided very useful local knowledge for banks etc.

The food was buffet style with the option for A la carte or snacks, quality was good and fair choice, no complaints.

Kruger park is literally on the doorstep, 5 minutes away, what a pleasure!

Will definitely recommend and intend on making a return visit.

Excellent venue for families and children, extensive grounds and good pools.

Room Tip: If you have children the family rooms are well situated by the pool, but if you want to view Crocodi...

The first impression of arriving and going to the deck and watch elephants, hippopotamus and crocodiles in Crocodile river is just amazing.
The lodge is very close to Kruger Park, the rooms are clean and comfortable, all the premisses are taken care of and the food is delicious.
Both the food and drinks at the hotel's restaurant and bar are cheap!

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the reception can get access to the wireless.

We visited the hotel during the long weekend in September 2013. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is ideally situated close to Kruger National Park's Malelane gate. It has great views of the river and we saw lots of Elephant, Crocs and Hippo from the viewing deck. The rooms are comfortable and well laid out with all necessities. The service was quite good. The only drawback was the food. Their website advertises an a-la-carte restaurant. However, when we enquired to see the a-la-carte menu, we were informed that during busy times they only serve buffet, not quite the romantic dinner for two I envisaged. That being said, the buffet was not too bad as buffets go and they did offer to prepare a separate meal for us, but only after we made a request. The breakfast buffet was fairly good.

It was funtastic being here on the deck of the hotel looking to crocodile river, on sunset and look to nature as it is. Elephants and Rinos on the river eating and enjoying the savana life. Great restaurant with good food and a breakfast to remenber! A place to return!
