“Great hosts”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Stayed here for one night before a trip into the Kruger NP. Easy to find in a good location near Hazyview. We were welcomed by name by Carol upon our arrival. We had a really good spacious room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. Plenty of birds about including a couple of woodpeckers. You are free to roam the lemon orchards outside the grounds but didn't see any hippo or crocodile which frequent the river. Both breakfast and the evening meal was cooked by Gavin and were excellent. We booked the three course evening meal but didn't know what we were having until we arrived. If you are a fussy eater, you could always check in advance. There was a big log fire in the main room and a good selection of drinks in the honesty bar. You just tick off what drinks you have had. The wine was priced fairly at around double supermarket price? Gavin helped with some routes in Kruger and tipped us off with the location of leopard and wild dog sightings that day. The place has a nice atmosphere which is enhanced by the great hospitality of Carol & Gavin. Next time we are in the area, we will stay again.

I really enjoyed my three days spent with my mum in Hazyview, which was very near to the Kruger National Park. Gavin and Carol were very personal and the guest house that they run was very comfortable, accommodating and private. They knew our schedule well and were always making us so welcomed. Gavin and Carol are good cooks and their passion in this industry is evident by their time spent with us. We truly could not have asked for a better place to stay.

So warm, friendly and helpful. home from home with all the comforts. Flexible with times. Nothing too much trouble. Yummy breakfast and great home cooked South African style dinner. I have already recommended friends to stay here.

Stayed at Laughing Waters for 2 nights and did 2 game drives in Kruger, which is ~20 min away. Great place, but even better service and hospitality from Carol and Gavin - felt like home away from home

Our group stayed at Laughing Waters for two nights and the experience was absolutely amazing! The rooms were fantastic along with the location, but it was the service that really made the stay unforgettable! Gavin and his wife were so welcoming and did anything and everything for us! The food was phenomenal and dinner was a joy to attend every night! They provided us with transportation and lots of interesting stories along the way! If you are in the area, STAY HERE!! Don't miss out on this beautiful paradise! I'll definitely be returning if the opportunity ever arises! Thank you again for your hospitality! This Texan was one happy camper :)
