A hands-on experience with lots of elephant info. Lovely setting and inspired/passionate owner. So much to learn about elephants and you'll learn it all here.

This was an amazing opportunity to meet and experience the power, majesty and complexity of these amazing animals! A great education precedes hands on encounters with the gentle giants. I chose not to burden the elephant and was delighted to still have time to touch and caress the sweet Tembo. Picture taking capped off a must see trip to Hazyview. The cost is a tad pricey but please remember these animals are expensive to upkeep so we are merely assisting in the cost!

This was the best attraction I experience while in South Africa for 30 days. We were booked by Viator tours as part of a Kruger National Park tour. When we arrived we found six elephants standing in front of us each holding a rider. Andre, the trainer demonstrated how they understood many commands. Andre has worked with elephants for over 18 years and knows so much about elephants. He had one of the large elephants lay down in front of us where we were able to touch it's trunk, ears, feet, tail, shoulders, and side. We learned so much about these gentle creatures in just a few moments. We were able to get some great pictures standing under the elephant's head and trunk. What a wonderful experience. The couple who operate this facility truly enjoy their work and it shows through their lovable sharing of experiences.

This was one of my favorite things I did in South Africa. The elephants are being rehabbed due to certain issues but they are set free to roam in a huge farm most of the day like they would in the wild. Twice a day they come down so that's when you may visit them. Andre will tell you many things you never knew about these magnificent beings. He has one of the younger boys lie down on his side so you can actually touch their feet and behind their ears ....then it's photo op time with the gorgeous, massive and gentle Timba . I felt so fortunate to just be near these beautiful animals and to touch them. At the end you will get to ride one of the elephants with a trainer. Another will follow taking photos of you. This is very hands on learning experience which you will never forget, the elephants will stay in your heart forever.

We visited as 2 couples in May.

We were given a talk first with loads of amusing and interesting facts about the elephants and we then touched one everywhere from the tip of it's trunk to the tip of it's tail whilst it just lay there eating sugar cane! The staff take great photos so give them your camera!!

Then we took the elephant back ride which took about 20 minutes, great fun getting on and off them! We rode them up to their stables before having sundowner drinks.

We were then lucky enough to spend some time with the largest elephant separately after everyone else had left, giving him extra treats and chatting with the manager.

We didn't realise when we booked the experience that they have an onsite bar and restaurant which looked lovely - called Ellies. Check it out if you visit!

Would highly recommend!
