Polokwane was the first stop on my recent Road Trip of Limpopo Province South Africa. I landed in JoBurg then having collected a car set of to Polokwane. It was early evening by the time I arrived and as it was winter the sun was setting and it was getting dark so I did not have a lot of time to find accommodation. I tried a couple of places but they were full. However my choice of the Pietersburg Lodge turned out to be a good one, it is located just off the N 1 as you enter the town. It cost Rand 65.00 for a room with 2 double beds,a fridge, tea making facilities, TV, ensuite bathroom. The decor was a tad dated, it was a bit stuck in the 1980s, but it was very clean and the beds were very comfortable, it is very close to the road but there was no noise. The facilities included a self serve BBQ area, a bar and restaurant but we chose to go out to eat. The breakfast in the morning was served in the Bar/ Resturant area, it was self service. The bread and muffins were homemade and delicious. The portions were plentiful. I was happy with my short stay at Pieterburg Lodge and it was good value for money.
