Just run a company conference for 85 people for a week at Ranch Resort. Everybody had a super experience, nothing bad to say about this venue. Great setting, great food, wonderful staff attitude. The outdoor experience, particularly with the white lions is really special. Where else can you walk with lions!

The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The food was outstanding! There are many function and conference venues as well as a variety in dining options. The added attraction of a game drive and interaction with lion cubs was enjoyed by both young and old.

We booked to "walk a lion" at the Ranch Resort. What an amazing experience! I would recommend this to everybody I know! It seems like they push up their prices during the holiday season - I checked their website a month before I left for this holiday, and the price as R500 per person, two weeks before it was R625 and we ended up paying R650. But still, this experience was well worth it! They brought out 3 lionesses of which 2 were white lions. They male is experiencing teenager hormonal changes so for safety he was not brought out. The staff know what they are doing, are friendly, knowledgeable and out to make this experience as good as it can be for you. The lions are very well looked after, so there are no surprises when you get there (like some places that claim to take care of their animals but when you get there they are kept in small cages). There are also great demonstrations about the abilities of the lions so get your camera ready and enjoy!

The hotel breakfast is very tasty and there is a wide variety to choose from. Don't rush it - have a seat and let the staff spoil you. They are very friendly and there to cater to your every need. Definitely the best way to start your day!

This is one hotel that I cannot recommend. Is it a hotel, I am not sure I slept in a room 51. Very expensive rates, not including breakfast. No access to local enews Channel 403, only SkyNews. This place boast a dining area that is also very expensive. They only have buffet if they're having lots of guests. Excellent breakfast buffet. Staff friendly but not a good stay.

We were looking for an interesting stopover on the way back to JNB from the northern part of Kruger NP - and we certainly found it! The hotel is set amongst beautiful well-tended gardens and has a well-maintained feel about it. We stayed in one of the hotel's guest-rooms (they have separate self-catering units available too next to their own golf course). The guest rooms are located in standalone units accessible on foot through the gardens, and each with their own dedicated parking spaces(s). From the outside they don't look that special, but the interiors are set up to a high standard of comfort and facilities - particularly the enormous bathroom which had separate shower and huge bath.

After roughing it (well, a bit) in the SANParks accommodation at Kruger, it was great to kick back in a full-service hotel environment with a huge comfortable bed, TV etc. We had pre-dinner drinks on the patio. followed by a memorable meal in Basil's restaurant - excellent, traditioal service and superlative food for very reasonable prices.

Next morning, we did the famous Lion Walk (which we'd pre-booked). A minimum of 4 people are required for this, on the day we did it unfortanately there were many more due to a tour group - however this did not significantly impact on the experience. And what an experience it is, the chance to walk through the bush with 3 adult lions! Surprisingly not really scary (though you have to keep your eye at all times on what the lions are doing and where they are), but certainly awe-inspiring and we came away on a real high that we'd done something unique. The Lion Walk is early morning, but there is enough time to go back to you room afterwards for a shower followed by an excellent breakfast in the restaurant.
