Quality Inn & Suites
Ranked #7 of 24 Hotels in Lake Havasu City
Reviewed May 29, 2012

Old. "Lake view" were on the very noisy highway. Front desk was kind enough to allow me to move. Rooms slightly updated, old walk in style straight from parking. These old places in Lake Havasu should be charging half of what they are.

Had an issue with my points and Choice Hotels Customer Service was unwilling to assist.
Last stay at this brand.

Room Tip: Rooms on the lake side are Noisy.

I had a one night stay here based on a suggestion by the tourist office. There were two of us and we got a twin queen room. The price was great and when checking in the dest clark asked if I wanted a room $10 less on the first floor. I was happy to, and glad she suggested it.
The room was facing the parking lot. It was large and clean. The chairs and table were OK and there was a coffee maker that worked well.
As several people mentioned the bathroom is small. The shower water pressure was great however and water was hot. I like having a separate sink area especailly when travelling with someone else.
Beds were really comfortable and I slept well.
I had a night time swim after dinner and the pool was wonderful.
Breakfast was really good, with hot sausages and eggs and lots of bread selections, fruits, yoghurts and oatmeals. I really enyoyed breakfast.
Overall my stay was really good and I would be happy to stay here again.

This is what the hotel should be called!!!! Went to check in, showed the girl at the desk the email reservation (I received from the hotel) with confirmation number on it. She said "that means nothing, you have no reservation."

I am thankful now that I was not able to stay there. The service...or should I say, complete lack of, was the WORST I have EVER experienced!!! (and I travel over 40 weeks of each year).

Do yourself a favor...Don't even try to book a room here!

Room Tip: Go to another hotel!

Overall, not a bad place to stay if you are just looking for cheap accommodations for one night. However, here are some of the things my husband and I did notice about the motel: The front of the motel faces the parking lot, so if you want to park close to your room, ask for a room that faces the parking lot. There is no additional parking lot for the rooms on the back side of the motel, and those rooms also face Highway 95, so you will hear alot of noise from traffic on the highway if you are in one of those rooms. There are 3 stories to the motel and there is no elevator, so if you don't want to carry your luggage up multiple flights of stairs, ask for a room on the first floor. The door to our room was in bad need of having the weather stripping replaced as you could see quite a bit of daylight across the bottom on the door and down one side of the door. There was a fridge and small microwave in the room, but fridge was turned off, so we had to turn it on and wait for it to cool down. There was a small freezer section in the fridge, however there was food left in the freezer, left over from a previous guest?! Small lamp on night stand was not plugged in, and my husband had to move the bed away from the wall to plug it in. Bathroom is tiny and contains only shower/tub and toilet. When you open the door to the bathroom, the door just barely misses hitting the toilet by about an inch. The sink is located out in the room itself and there is limited counter space around the sink. Also, the light switch for the bathroom is located outside of the bathroom, (in the room itself), so you have to remember to turn the switch on before entring the bathroom. The inside of the bathroom door was in need of being wiped down, and there was also hair stuck to the door, as well as hair in the bathtub. There were also a couple of places in the bathroom where the paint was actually peeling off the wall. My husand and I checked out the pool; however the water was somewhat green, and there was dirt visible in several places on the bottom of the pool. In all fairness to the staff, we did not ask for another room as it was late at night and were tired (and had already unpacked). On the upside, there is a convenience store located directly in front on the motel (in the same parking lot) for any last minute items. The complimentary breakfast was good with a variety of cereals, juices, eggs, sausage, muffins, toast, rolls, etc. to choose from.We would probably stay there another time ,just would like to see some cosmetic work down to room or rooms

Upon first view of the property looks a little old but not bad. Its in a nice location and super close to attractions in the area. The check-in lobby is nice and that's where it stops.

Food is atrocious in their on property restaurant. The pool area is gnarly looking, could use a face lift or at the very least a deep clean.

The exterior halls for the guest rooms are okay. Needs to be cleaned & in desperate need if a power wash.

The rooms are dated. The PTAC units are at least 20 years old and don't work too well, very loud.

. The TV's are old RCA from 1990. The cable service they use is a joke, of the more than 40 channels that get picture, only 8 work.
Some channels Spanish or French only and most have no sound. According to maintenance staff they have been dealing w the poor TV service for over a year.

WiFi is free, but signal is poor.

Lots of existing old damage in rooms to fixtures & walls. Only half the outlets work. Furniture is old.

Smoke detectors are in the bathroom, not near the beds where they should be. The first floor rooms have virtually no emergency exits away from the building, there is an iron bar fence w no gates only route is through 3 halls through the building and up a flight of stairs. Virtually no fire extinguishers in exterior halls for the guest rooms and the ones there are either expired or need to be charged.

The maintenance staff share w guests incidents that have happened at the hotel. The FD staff is rude & condescending, especially when reporting an issue.

We checked in with an extremely rude employee names Maggie, who was wiping her mouth and liking her fingers as she came out of her side room. She was sticking her fingers in her mouth and liking them as she grabbed our credit card and typed on her computer keyboard. We took our bags and our very tired 4 year old down to the END of the building only to find out that our keys did not work. We had to walk back to the office, where AGAIN, Maggie came around the corner licking her fingers and wiping her mouth with her hands. She didn't apologize that our keys didn't work or anything. She was flat out rude. Our room was a dump. There were cigarette burns and blood stains on the sheets. The room smelled damp and musty. It was an old dated, mess. I seriously would have felt cleaner sleeping in my car. The breakfast the next day was more than forgettable. The Hampton Inn was more expensive that the Quality Inn, but it did appear much nicer from the outside. Do not stay at the Quality Inn.

Room Tip: Doubtful there is a good room.

Staying at the motel as I write this and the place is showing its age. It "bugs" for any property to have loose doors for storage with pad locks when they could repair the door or knob. Trim pieces around the shower are loose and the water flow is reduced considerably.

The wireless Internet is terrible. You might have good signal strength but the speed is poor and it drops in and out. Bad if you rely on the Internet.

The front side is much quieter than the back side facing US 95 so make a point to ask for a room in the front. The desk personnel changed my room from the back to the front with courtesy and did so quickly.

The breakfast was sort of sad with toaster waffles and French toast. I guess I get used to the waffle makers most places have now. Basic continental breakfast.

Ya know, just your basic motel.

Room Tip: Stay away from the side facing US 95 and that is also the sunny side so wil be much warmer.
