Stayed here for two nights as part of a tour. After a flight from Cape Town and a bus to the small private airfield in the middle of Kruger National Park we then climbed into a number of custom made, open Range Rovers for the ride down the tracks to Tinga. It was worth the effort !!

Staying at the Narina section of the Lodge (there are two, Narina and Legends) I had a fantastic "lodge" of my own, with views along the river and a private plunge pool, adjacent to my
verandah. Watching a hippo, elephants and a couple of water buffalo cool themselves off in the heat of the day while I was doing the same in my pool, is an experience !

The food and service are superb - and would stand up against any 5 star international hotel standard.

There probably aren't enough superlatives to adequately describe this property - suffice to say that if you are looking for a place to stop, relax, eat wonderful food, drink wonderful wine AND see some spectacular scenery and wildlife - THIS is the place !!

Room Tip: Narina is the place to be.

Tinga is a great place to stay. The accommodation is out of this world with private plunge pool and views of the river where you can watch hippos, rhinos and elephants while sipping drinks in your private pool. The food and staff were amazing. Our guide Michael and tracker Eman were awesome. Very capable and fun. I highly recommend them both. Only disappointing thing is staying on the dirt roads where other places will drive offroad to see the game. We were lucky and had some great sightings but still would have preferred to have gone offroad (like Mala Mala and Ngala). Did I mention the rooms?? Worth going just for that!

Room Tip: All rooms look over the river and have plunge pools

My husband and I and our two teenagers stayed at Tinga Narina Lodge in December 2012. This was our first destination on our first trip to Africa and we didn't know quite what to expect. After a long flight and drive, we were greeted at the entrance with drinks and cold wash cloths. Even though we had missed lunch, they graciously prepared and served us a delicious meal. The food there was absolutely top notch. We always had a choice of two starters, four entrees and two desserts. Afternoon tea was a highlight - iced coffee, homemade cookies and frittatas, grilled tomato and cheese sandwiches - it was a meal! The Christmas day buffet was incredible, and the Boma dinner was magical. Our guide, Michael, and our tracker, Emmanuel, were the best. There was not a species of mammal, bird or insect that Michael could not immediately identify and talk about. We learned so much. Emmanuel actually spotted a chameleon in a tree from about 10 yards away in the dark, along with leopards, lions, rhino and dozens of other animals. It really makes a difference being on the private concession - more flexibility and very few vehicles. We saw the "Big 5" in one day! The sundowners were a real treat - we could not believe we were standing in the middle of the Kruger National Park in South Africa eating empanadas and chicken wings and sipping a glass of red wine. We spent our last monring parked on the beach eating croissants and drinking coffee and watching a pride of lions come over the ridge and down to the river to get a drink. Wow! The rooms were beautiful - like something out of a magazine. Gorgeous views, outdoor showers, a desk and sitting area. Our bed was bigger than our California King bed at home and very comfortable. The kids stayed in their own chalet right next door - very convenient. The camp manager, Jopie, was accomodating of our every request and just a lot of fun. We enjoyed getting to know her and all the staff. I would highly recommend Tinga Narina as part of any African vacation - we can't wait to go back!

My wife and I stayed at Tinga Narina lodge for 4 nights in December to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. Staying at Tinga was by far the most magical holiday we have ever experienced. The weather was absolutely perfect and we spent afternoons lounging on our deck next to the pool while viewing the wild game on the spectacular Sabie river and listening to the peaceful sounds of the African bush.

From the moment we arrived at Tinga we were treated like royalty and what ever we needed someone was there to provide it to us with a smile. All the staff were very professional and friendly in attending to our every need.

The game drives were so much fun and we longed for each one. We were lucky enough to see the all the "Big 5" thanks to our excellent and knowledgeable ranger and tracker Alfred and Isaac. It was especially amazing to see a mating pair of leopards which we have never seen in all our years of travelling to the Kruger Park.

And then there was the food...oh the food...! Amazing food, we longed for each meal which was almost every couple of hours, you definitely wont experience hunger at Tinga. Each meal with starters, mains and desert was truly out of this world. Our taste buds were exploding with excitement with the variety of foods and tastes spread before us, like beautiful artworks. Especially amazing was the Impala kebabs and Gemsbok steak! Amazing!

Tinga was so tranquil, when we were in our suite we felt like the only people on the planet with all the wild sounds of the bush surrounding us.

Many thanks to all the staff at Tinga for a great job and an amazing holiday we will forever treasure in our memory banks!!

Room Tip: All the rooms have spectacular views of the river and are quiet and peaceful.
