The restcamp is very quit in the evening. The rooms are little houses (rondavel) and very unique. The bathroom is basic but clean. The restaurant is very good and the shop has enough different things to choose from.

Any visit to the Kruger Park is higly recommended for viewing game. Most bungalows are self-catering. Stayed in a 3-bed unit and enjoyed to braai. Unfortunately the noise from the campsite area affected the quality of the hyena calling. one should probably pay extra and go on a morning walk to properly experience what remains of the bushveld here.

We ran the half marathon in Skukuza Staff Village. Afterwards we went for lunch under a pagola close to the Sabie river. Food was good, service as well. The atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. Although there was a lot of runners aroud, we did not get the idea that it was crowded. Afterwards we went to the shop and this was well stocked with friendly staff to make sure you don't stand in a long line to pay for your purchases.

Stayed at this camp for 4 nights at the start of my 2 week Kruger trip in June/July 2018. Facilities are decent and access to wildlife is fantastic -- a few lion prides are not far and one can see all the big five easily by hanging around the camp. For example, during a morning walk, we surprised a pride of lions resting under a bush, just south of the camp. (Don't worry, we're fine...but you should see the lions!) To the east, saw some cheetah families. To the west, there are leopards. Elephants, giraffes, buffalo, are pervasive.

The reception staff was great and very helpful in sorting out the activities -- I'd messed up a couple of things when I double booked, and there was an issue with the room which the staff sorted out quickly and satisfactorily.

I did night drives, sunset drives, morning walks every day, and also did one afternoon walk. The guides were Robert, Aubrey, Elliot, and Rolaani. They were professional, and eager to share their knowledge of the bush. They'd do pop quizzes and were extremely engaging and friendly. Don't miss a chance to walk/drive with the guides and pick their brains. I learned so much about the small things in the bush that one can't experience driving around, while walking with the guides. Did I mention we accidentally surprised a pride of lions during one of our walk? What a thrilling experience that was -- you'd be lucky to bump into a big cat like that...they usually run away the moment they sense humans on foot. The guides handled the situation professionally and we never felt like us or the animals were in any danger -- got a chance to take some nice snaps of the lion that charged us, once the situation had calmed down some.

The facilities at the camp are decent and the restaurant was good! The wait staff had an incredible memory -- despite having served hundreds of people each day, they'd magically remember how I liked my coffee and breakfast! They were also very friendly and welcoming.

Skukusa is a wonderful camp!!! Accommodation is perfect and the birdwatching is amazing! Game viewing is marvellous... we enjoyed the sight of a rhino family on our own!!! The restaurant at this camp is the only one which accepts bookings...not fair if you are staying there and go to an empty restaurant only waiting for people who had made a reservation... but,as whole, it is just Lovely!
