Aah Singita Sweni - We loved our stay here - it was once again so special in a completely different way. The staff welcomed us like we'd known them forever and so, from that moment onwards you just felt completely a part of Sweni Lodge. It is built high up on the side of the Sweni River and you feel that you are completely surrounded by birds and you often hear the trill of the Woodland King Fisher. Looking down into the river there were lots hippo's and crocodiles. All the suites are also built along this steep hill overlooking the river and once you are in them you understand how cleverly they have been designed. They are cantilevered over the hill and you are surrounded by glass walls with Singita's clever understated luxury. Once again, every little detail was taken care of, from inside and outside showers, a day bed covered by a mosquito net on the patio, magnificent bedding and towels and all the little details that makes Singita so special. The food at Sweni was slightly more relaxed and their head chef - Megan was incredibly creative and produced delicious meals. We had a magnificent bush braai (barbecue) on the river under a huge lamplit tree listening to the sounds of the hippo rolling in the water.
