Amazing, helpful staff, great food, awesome surroundings, here you can really feel close to the nature. I do love the tree houses, but tents are also very comfortable. Perfect place to stay during safari.

Hi there

The words "excellent" , "memorable" and " friendly " encapsulate exactly what we, at Viva Safaris, are trying to achieve. Thank you for using these words in a great review.

I am particularly pleased that you enjoyed our food and our friendliness. These are important components of any safari.

Thanks for taking the time to record your memories of Marc's Treehouse Lodge - like you, we also believe it is an "excellent place" .

Kind regards

Piero

Stayed for 3 nights at Marc's Treehouse Lodge on a Kruger safari. Very much enjoyed my stay. All the huts are inside a relatively large complex, where antelopes, baboons, and other animals run free. As others have pointed out, the accommodation is rustic, rooms are basic (clean, though bugs will always get in), and power may go out during thunderstorms, but that's all part of the experience. The staff are really friendly and fun. The food is tasty, chicken and sausages may even prepared for you on an open fireplace while you are having starters. Enjoy the guided walk around the complex on your last day. Your mobile phone will connect, Wifi is available (up to 0.8Mbps up/down when nobody else is on). Important: bring a power plug adapter (SA-3 prongs) to plug in your devices!
Overall a memorable experience.

i stayed at Marc's treehouse lodge at the end of this month. it was not what i had expected. what you see on the website is a bit too fancy than what you get when you go to the actual place. first of all the meals were cold and blunt. i am a vegetarian and had a hard time getting vegetarian meals even though i had indicated that when i made my booking a couple of months back prior to my booking. There is a bit of a distance between the treehouses and the main lodge. There was no one to asssist me carry my luggage that i wished that i had left it at the the hotel in Johannesburg. When it comes to the treehouses they do indicate that they are rustic but i felt they were just " OLD". The towel i had had holes in it and the mosquito nets were visibly mended in places that were torn and showed old dirt spots. i think one of the highlight for me was seeing the animals in the morning as i went for breakfast. they have nialas. beautiful animals. The hostess there tries her best and the staff as well. It is quite had for them to work with the old worn out stuff there. management should look into this. i also enjoyed the full day safari in Kruger. i managed to see the big five in one day. i would advise other travellers to do extensive research before travelling to the treehouses.

Room Tip: ask for treehouse 11, 12 and 13 they are closer to the breakfast area

i had a wonderfull stay at marcs the food was very good, staff was very friendly, it will be a good idea to have a beer around the fire with the good hostess, pretty and thalita, i promised to come back for a leopard we only saw (4) four of the big five, patrick was so awesome as our guide to kruger, on our last morning we did a bush walk wich was a good idea for me to go for it, i have learned a lot on a bush walk.trees, animal print, zebra and more.

I was so suprise when i read some of the reviews about marcs tree house, i think some of the people they just write for fun, but it will be for the best to write for helping other tourist to choose for a best place........

Hi

Thank you for a great review !

I am very pleased that you had such a good time - it sounds like you really enjoyed yourself both from a game-viewing perspective as well as a social one ! That Marc's Treehouse Lodge Boma is ideal for chilling - the fire, the company, the fresh African breeze and the calls of Hyena and other animals make it very special.

I am pleased, also, that you found our staff such good fun. They also enjoy our guests' company and Pretty and Talitha form a great hosting team.

Once again a big thank you for a great review !

Kind regards

Piero

My family is so jealous after looking at over 2600 pics and videos. They so badly want to go back to this place. I just love the way they (Thalitha, Pretty and Nerai) treat people. They make you feel like you known them from ages. I just come back from the 3 day Safari with Viva Safari's staying at both Tremisana & Marcs Treehouse Lodge. We are mature travellers who normally like a bit of luxury but what an amazing experience we had staying with them. We certainly enjoyed staying in the Treehouses, you can't get an experience like that in too many places... waking up to the Impala's drinking from the river belong you & on your morning walk around the reserve coming face to face with 4 Buffalo & a family of niyalas. We even had breakfast sitting on rocks watching the Hippos. The staff are amazing. Reymond and all the other staff have a wealth of knowledge & went out of their way to enable us to see 4 of the BIG FIVE - sadly no Leopards on this trip. Thalitha, Pretty and Nerai provided good wholesome fresh food & it was great to share stories with other guests from around the world over breakfast & around the fire in the evening. We found all costs reasonable & would recommend if you want something a little different - I can't wait to go back with my family next year.

Room Tip: Take Room # 1 or Room # 9, private and lot to see.

They did a very good job! I stayed at Marc's Treehouse Lodge two nights. The service
is good and the staff is suuper nice! Pretty and Talita are very kind and helpful. The
accommodation is comfortable and clean.
It would be great to have wifi, at least, in one of the common areas, or at least access to a computer with internet.

Me gustó mucho!
