First always phone the attraction before visiting .They no longer run it every day as some of the websites advertise. We were picked up from our safari lodge to go to this absolutely fabulous show about the Shangaan tribe. I play the Djembe and wanted to see a traditional group using these type of drums. I wasn't disappointed. The performers were astounding. Quickly changing costumes through out the show singing, dancing even including a bit of comedy when the Scots in their kilts came on. After the show we walked down to the Nyali village where there was a bit more storytelling and then the traditional meal, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I did pass on the Mopani worms. I would highly recommend this show, and stay for the meal.

This is by far the most professional and fun cultural village I've ever experienced. The show they put on was exceptional. Singers and dancers were fantastic. Beautiful young people offering a superb performance. Food delicious too... Thank you to all involved at ROR. You are doing a wonderful thing!

Pounding drums, Roots of Rhythm, The “Limpopo Pathways Show” with costumes, songs and dances of all tribes - flowing into a “Living Cultural Village” where you are on a journey through the stages of life in a Shangaan homestead, architecture, agriculture, family and customs

As a trip of degree students looking to have a fully immersive experience I am always wary of these shows. BUT...the setting is beautiful. There was a warm and friendly welcome. The show was energetic, fun, educational and memorable. We were even invited to 'bust a few moves' at the end which students loved (so did staff secretly!) The explanation of village life afterwards and the meal was a great touch. The village is not sold as where the people actually live but as a genuine mock-up and I really appreciated this. After the food we inadvertently found ourselves with various drums and Niko, one of the performers, tutored a load of our students in drumming and rhythm keeping. Again, a storming success and no one wanted to leave! Thanks for a fab day.

This is undoubtedly the best cultural performance I have seen in South Africa. Authentic, factual and very entertaining! Besides getting insights into the Shangaan culture and their traditional village life, you are whisked through the history of South Africa in the most amazing display of song and dance. A real performance!! Don't skip out on the meal afterwards, you'll love it.
