A most enjoyable stay. Excellent accommodation. Good food and service. Staff were most friendly and helpful. Highlight was the morning walks with the cheetahs. Had the most fantastic and knowledgeable game drives.

Thank you for taking the time to write the review for Marula Camp. Both Chris and Jessica, who take the Marula Camp guests on the walks and game drives, have extensive knowledge regarding the wildlife and nature. They both also share the same passion for what they do which is clearly visible on the walks and drives. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us as well as the activities and hope to host you again in the near future.

We wanted to pet cheetah so we decided to stay a night here. Even though we stayed at a tent, it was very clean and comfortable. When we got here late at night, cheetah was walking around our tent and it was such an exciting moment. In the morning, cheetah was sitting close to our tent and we could fully enjoy them.
Since cheetah was not in a mood to hunt, we couldn't do cheetah walk in the monring and did game drive instead, but after the breakfast, we could just play with cheetah as long as we wanted. It is definitely worth staying here when you want to play with cheetah.

Room Tip: Tent is good enough to stay. You can have breakfast at main lodge even if you stay at a tent.

Thank you very much for writing a review regarding Marula Camp. Ntombi, the cheetah that is referred to has been hand raised and now roams free on the Private Nature Reserve. She loves the interaction with the guests and tends to stay close to camp, lazing around the swimming pool during the day.
We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again in the future.

Despite having hired a motorhome for our trip in South Africa, we still booked in for one night at Marula Camp as the photos of the game walks accompanied by cheetahs etc looked so amazing. Chris and Vicky were brilliant right from our initial booking onwards. At the time that we went it cost just over £150 for five of us in two spacious, en-suite safari tents. There is a small outdoor pool with covered breakfast/lunch eating area in the garden, a guest lounge with tv and free wifi, two guest kitchens which were clean and well-equipped and a lovely boma where a large fire pit and tables are situated in an enclosed area. A fire is lit each evening which you can brai over. (Grills and utensils are provided) The cost of the accommodation included an afternoon/evening game drive and a morning game walk. Chris was a great guide and gave us lots of interesting information on the 3hr drive. His knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for the bush really added to the thrill of seeing so many animals in such a short time, (4 out of the big five plus loads of others.) The guides from Tshukudu and Marula are all in radio contact with each other and let each other know where the animals are, thereby maximising the number of species that you see. On the morning game walk we had a chance to see the rare King cheetah, stroke the male cheetahs and take two caracals with us on the walk. This was in addition to having breakfast out by the pool with Ntombi, the camp cheetah laid out next to us, enjoying being stroked and having her tummy tickled. What more can I say other than - don't miss out! Enjoy the experience of a private safari lodge at Travel lodge prices.

I've been to lots of game reserves over the years and this visit to Marula Camp at Tshukudu has to rate as one of the most exciting and memorable. We got to walk with an adult cheetah, and touch her as she purred, which was really special as cheetahs are such amazing creatures. We also stroked an adult leopard through the enclosure wire, and I held a fluffy lynx in my arms like a baby. The game ranger, Chris, took us on a crazy and fun bundu bash through the deep bush to get up close and personal with a lioness and her five cubs, and later a full-grown male lion. Our kids loved the trip. The accommodation was great, the owners and the staff very friendly, and everything we needed was provided. We highly recommend Marula and Tshukudu to anyone wanting a truly memorable and personal African safari experience.

Service was good, the room was average. Very relaxing and saw the big 5 in one afternoon. The food was excellent. The kitchen area was very clean and neat. Like the idea of a small crowd of people staying at both the camps.
The game drivers went out of their way to show us as many animals they can and also made it very interesting.
