Owner description: HESC focuses on the conservation of rare, vulnerable or endangered animals. Cheetah Conservation is one of the core disciplines. HESC has established itself as one of the leading private research and breeding facilities for endangered species in the country. Governed by a progressive and modern management approach, it concerns itself with the breeding and maintenance of several endangered indigenous wildlife species in southern Africa. The centre places particular emphasis on the breeding and maintenance of cheetah in captivity. The excellent condition of these animals and the premises on which they are maintained, reflect the attention to detail, which is the hallmark of this facility. STANDARD TOUR The duration of each tour is 2 hours. Enables the visitor to have sufficient time to ask questions to the guide and do an in-depth tour of the centre. Please note that our first tour can include the cheetah run, however bookings are essential. Prior reservations are essential.

HESC is an ineresting place to visit from a conservation point of view but with so many of the animals being permanently living there it does have a bit of a zoo like feel to it. Preferred Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre personally

A tremendous effort to bring endangered species to the attention to children and the world. They are truely making a difference in the race to protect endangered African species.

HESC is a must see! The passion and dedication they put into the work they do is truly inspiring. When visiting you firstly watch a half an hour video of the Centre, which is very educational and shows you the hard work they do and what a difference it has made! You then go on a tour around HESC where you can see the MANY cheetahs they have there. I do not understand why anyone is saying that there aren't many animals, after all it specialises in cheetahs and they even have King Cheetah there which are very rare and aren't even believed to be found in the wild anymore. Cheetahs aren't something you see everyday and visiting the Centre you're driving down roads with them all around you and they aren't bad enclosures where they are! I couldn't recommend somewhere anymore, please visit and help to ensure the cheetahs tomorrow!!!!
