I stayed with a tour group of 75 for 4 nights. Most of us had stained towels or dirty sheets. One in our group had to get the curtains changed because they were black with mould. We have travelled together as a group for years and are not that picky, but to stay at a Fairmont, we expected a certain level of cleanliness.
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is very friendly and try to please, but management should really look at their standards. For a two year old hotel, the furniture and carpet in the lobby were worn. We had to ask to for different dishes because they were not properly cleaned (either lipstick stains or coffee stained).
For a Fairmont, it was really disappointing, our group is at a Westins in Capetown and it is 100% better.More
