Hotel is OK if you're not expecting a 5 star experience. Which we were and which one should given that's what it's billed as. Hotel is in need of maintenance, coathangers and more knowledgeable staff. The staff are all friendly and courteous but the wait staff don't know the menus, think its OK to offer unchilled white wine with ice cubes and have not heard of top local restaurants. Nothing horrible to report, just not a 5 star experience.

World Class Excellence! Breathtaking Perfection. Upon entering this evergreen forest, welcomed by the energetic night life, one drives up to this huge, double volume, upmarket, modern hotel: Zimbali Resort. Friendly welcomes you on arrival at the entrance of this magnificent hotel. Staff offers to assist with baggage, parking your car, etc. Arrangement for a later check out time could be arranged by the Manager on Duty, who was most helpful in accommodating our every need. The huge sea view room on the third level is breathtaking, with high quality finishes and exquisite furniture. The extra large bed is extremely comfortable. There's a flat screen TV with DSTV channels. The room is equipped with coffee facilities and a bar fridge. There's enough towels. The walk in cupboard is spacious and includes a safe. The toilet is separate from the open space bathroom, which includes a big shower and bath tub in the centre of the room. For added privacy, the bath / shower area can be closed off with double sliding doors! The bedroom's double sliding doors leads to an open patio with comfortable seating and table. The endless sea view captures your attention from this open balcony.
The breakfast area is filled with friendly assisting staff. The buffet breakfast (if included) ensures great variety from cold meats, cheeses, variety of breads, cereals, yoghurt, dried fruit, fresh fruit, warm meat, omelettes, muffins, pancakes, fresh honey, fresh cream (only to mention a few).
The hotel is walking distance to breathtaking pools, restaurants and the beach. If you prefer to to walk, there's the option of hiring a golf cart.

There's 2/3 cockroaches and it seems as if the tiled floors aren't properly washed. (It might be the type of tile).

Overall this is a great hotel, great location, great service! I will definitely return.

Room Tip: The sea view room on the third level at the far end of the hotel is very quiet and private. Take the bed and breakfast option!

We stayed with the whole family at Zimbali during Christmas. Lots of fun things to do at different pools for the kids. Food was devine. Staff was well organised and super friendly. We would advice anyone with kids to visit Zimbali. JP

Spent everyday at the pool at the Ayoba Beach Club Fairmont Zimbali. Fantastic cocktails, especially Strawberry Daqs. We had wonderful service from Lucas and the rest of the staff and an excellent lunch. Worth a visit.

The Zimbali Resort is located right on the beach, I had a room that overlooked the ocean and I could listen to the waves at night and feel the fresh air ... so relaxing! The room was very comfortable, the bath tub had a view out to the sea - a nice touch although being on the ground floor, a little risky!!
Meals at each of the restaurants both at the lodge and at the resort were all excellent.
I was without a car, but the hotel made it very simple for me to go wherever I wanted (a little pricey, but much appreciated). Local shopping centres were great.
There wasn't a lot to do - I was looking for a time away from everything so that was fine - and I was there in the cooler months of October. There was also a lot of maintenance going on around the building but it was unobtrusive so not really a problem.
