All food was really good especially the specials. We were a party of 7 and each of us were very impressed with both starter and main of our choice. My prawn curry as a main was simply delicious.
Efficient and friendly staff

Well done Trevor on your fantastic restaurant. The service was really good. The Food was outstanding - especially the calamari with curry sauce, pity this is not a dish on its own on the menu (part of Calarmari Piatto). Ambiance fantastic. Setting and view of ocean is awesome. WE WILL BE BACK!

This is very much a '2 in 1' restaurent - clearly run by very able and experienced restauranteurs. Inside is very elegant - and popular - a tribute to the quality of the food.

On the deck outside looking onto the ocean there is a higher percentage of younger people with pizzas and pasta. Typical 'deck' decor - practical rather than elegant but with the same menu available so you can choose your style of eating

I chose as starter one of their 'special' starters - a hollowed out mango filled with seafood in a piquant curried mayonaise - really different, memorably so and the combination of flavours was wonderful. It was filled and overflowing with mixed seafood - enough for a light meal for most people. At R55 it was excellent value for money

Because of another review I asked for a small paella - I took home more than I could eat, but not to my taste nearly as good as the starter. Not on the menu - but charged me R99 - again enough for 2 people, full of chicken and seafood and garnished with head-on prawns and 2 large pieces of roast chicken

At R22 I got a large glass of excellent dry rose. Just wished I had seen their cocktail menu before I started!

One of those restaurants you just wish was round the corner from where you live!

I would thoroughly recommend it for any time of the day - next time I come to Ballito I will haunt the place - snack lunch, afternoon cocktail overlooking the sea, pre dinner drinks and dinner. This place is a must for young, old, families - just a great place with something for everyone.

The music from the disco below started about 9 - but I soon adjusted to the different mood and enjoyed that also

Lovely, friendly staff, specials menu is superb. Sea views are amazing, however this is reserved for smokers, staff assured us plans are in place to have a non smokers outside dining area

we recently were on holiday in Ballito, and we ate at different restaurants nightly over two weeks.
a friend told us that the best-kept sectret in Ballito is a restaurant he had been going to for over twenty years, called Al Pescatore, situated in a beach-facing street.
we went there that night, and were seated by the owner, Trevor.
His and his staff's friendliness and knowledge of food are unparalleled.
the special that evening was a seafood paella for R99. the portion is sufficient for two people, and a single serving is a thing of beauty. i have never seen such a heaped bowl of top-quality paella ingredients in my life, and i am 45.
his starters are fantastic, and so are the desserts, which are unusual.Over the next week we ate there a further 3 times, trying his linefish and his curry, all of which were truly 5-star experiences
this is another example of that oh-so-impossible to find experience called economytronomy.starters, cooldrinks drinks and dessert for us came out under 400,and we took our friends there ,and the bill for 4 main courses with drinks was under R700,without starters or dessert,as we were filled to the brim by the main course size.We enjoyed ourselves so much in Ballito ,that we have decided to buy timeshare at La Montagne just to be closest to Al Pescatore when we visit Natal.
we ate at other restaurants from Durban to Margate ,and nothing could hold a candle to this.
i am looking forward to our next holiday,as the memory of this food remains vivid weeks after returning home to Johannesburd- this is truly an experience worth driving all the way to Ballito for
truly an incredible experience and a most gracious host. an overall time to remember
