Stayed two nights with children - given more than ample space, quality service, excellent staff care and super breakfasts.

Internet does not reliably reach the cottage at the back of the house at all times but a small difficulty in light of the beautiful setting and other excellent features of the property and owners.

I look forward to a reason to return!

We stayed here for one night during our Garden Route trip. The owner his very friendly and te room we stayed in was very ok. Huge bath and very nice views on the Ocean. It's just a short walk through the dunes to the great (and quiet) beach. The pool is quite small but who cares with a huge ocean in the front of the hotel.

One minor experience: on our confirmation stood check out at eleven. So at ten we wanted to go for a swim but the co-ownwer/wife of the owner told us we had to check out at ten. After we were ready to get in our car she said she was sorry and that we could have a shower anyway, but that was too little too late.

For the rest nice place and worthwile visiting.

Hi Thomas

Thank you for the honest review.

Once again, please accept our apologies regarding the check out time. It was an oversight on my part on the web site you booked through. I have changed this subsequently to 10H00.

Normally we are more flexible with the check out time on the Guests request. You stayed during our absolute peak season as I am sure you saw with the guesthouse being full to the rafters. We also had most of the rooms check out on that day with new arrivals in the afternoon. Guests arrive any time from early afternoon and we do our best to have all rooms ready and spring cleaned by then.

If ever you are in Wilderness in a quieter time, we would love to have you stay with us again and have you check out later.

Sincerely

Andre

If you're in need of of a relaxing holiday, book a room at Dolphin Dunes. Excellent location high on the dune with a wooden walkway to one of SA's best beaches. Rooms are well appointed (have slept in 4 of the 8 rooms - this our 6th stay), very clean and serviced daily. The thing that make Dolphin Dunes more special than the other b&b's around here is its owners, Andre & Mathilda. They care for every need and are always available with advice or to care for ones needs without being intrusive. They know the good and the very good of Wilderness (no bad in Wilderness). Excellent attention to detail: beach umbrellas, chairs, towels; Weber when needed; special little gifts for Xmas & New Year). Important to mention that here you also get a great breakfast with excellent coffee!

Room Tip: Room 1 for a spacious sea view; Room 5 - no sea view but very spacious and private. In winter time...

When we are going to spend our holidays at the Gardenroute, we always love to stay there. It is the most beautiful, friendly and amazing place. The owner Mathilda and Andre are always so kind and friendly, looking after their guests, let them know which restaurant is good for fresh fish or delicious steak. They tell you where to go, how the weather would be in Outshoorn or which question you may have, they are always there to help you. Thank you for the lovely stay. Thank you for your love to our kids, which always say, when are we going again to visit Dolphin Dunes.
If you do not know, where to stay at the Garden Route, this is the best place to stay, because from here you can go to most of the places like Knysna, Outshoorn, Plettenberg and you do not have to pack your suitcase, you just come home after an exciting day.
Thank you we will come back soon :)

Room Tip: The seaview rooms are the best, but for families it is also good to stay in this bigger rooms

We stayed in dolphin dunes only for a night and were very sad to leave. The rooms has a full sea front view and balcony. They are nicely decorated and very spacious. From the balcony you can walk down on a private staircase to the lovely white beach. We saw an amazing sunset from there....

Friends who have stayed at Dolphin Dunes before insisted that it is must stay if we are ever in South Africa. We booked for 4 days and it was way too short. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived.

The views are fantastic!!! The service outstanding and the staff so friendly.

Linda made us an exquisite breakfast everyday and Mathilda and Andre made sure our stay was perfect.

Although it was winter, we had some really beautiful days. The access to the beach was used often.

We will be back soon. Cannot wait!

Room Tip: Suite 4. You lie in bed and look down on the beach and ocean. Just wonderful.
