My friend and I made a two night stop at Wilderness after arriving at George airport and picking up a car. The guest house was easy to find and parking was no problem. The position of Whales Way is just above a lovely sandy bay and the Ocean room is enormous and has a double aspect view of the beach and the mountains.
Every need is catered for along with a jacuzzi bath with candles, tv etc. The breakfast is taken on the verandah if its sunny and is indiviually cooked for your needs.
The owners are English and are helpful with recommendations of places to eat in Wilderness and things to do. The canoe/walk to a waterfall is beautiful and great fun for all ages.

Ali and Tim made our stay a truly wonderful, magical and completely unexpected experience! A beautiful paradise, with every attention to detail you would expect from a 6 star hotel. And one of Ali´s treatments was the icing on the cake. Worth the extra expense, compared to other B & B´s. Thank you from Amanda and Spike!

Whale's Way is a delightful find! Tim and Ali are great hosts who welcome you like old friends. Our room had beautiful views - the kind where you instantly relax! Ali's artwork, displayed around the house, is impressive. Easily accessible to the N2 and close enough to Wilderness Village, it still manages to feel like you're miles away from reality.
The room had everything we needed and more. A peaceful haven that is a gem! Delightful breakfast and yummy coffee round of the stay! Ask Ali for restaurant recommendations - she'll steer you in the right direction

  • Liked — The views - on both sides!
  • Disliked — not seeing the dolphins from the breakfast table (it was the weather's fault!)

Really want to keep this place a secret as it was such a great find!
This B&B was in Wilderness which the Rough Guide told us to avoid and yet we completely disagree and Wilderness was our favourite place on our trip.
Directions were good and it was easy to find, fantastic welcome from Ali with drink on the huge first floor balcony overlooking the ocean. Within 15 minutes we had restaurants booked for all 3 nights and we were made to feel like friends rather than guests.
Even the cheapest room was nice but the others are definitely worth the price if you have the money. Our room was on the ground floor but you could still see the ocean. Good bathroom, nice little touches in the room and an absolutely enormous bed!
Breakfast perfect and finished off with freshly home-baked mini muffins (best scrambled eggs out of all the places we stayed too!). Breakfast served on the balcony, when the weather is nice, so you can whale watch.
Although the beach is not accessible directly at the front of the house, 200 metres down the road are steps which take you down.
Nothing was too much trouble for Ali - she is a great hostess and we wish that we could have stayed longer. We will recommend to others and will return on our next trip.

Right from our arrival, it was evident that this place is special.
Ali and Tim were everpresent in their efforts to make our stay as memorable and amazing as it turned out to be!

We opted for the first floor room as it was my birthday whilst we were there. The views were mind-blowing, and complimented by the superior decor and design of the property itself. Everything in the room was top-notch, and Ali was on hand whenever we needed for a chat, a cuppa, and any reccomendations for things to do and see.

They had also made a reservation for us at a nearby restaurant for my birthday meal which was unbelievable. If you get the chance to stay here, then make sure you book in at 'Serendipity' which represented the best dining experience of both my wife and I's life to press.

The breakfast that was prepared for us was second to none, with a beautiful ambience and setting.

Wilderness is a lovely little spot, and Whale's Way makes it all the more enjoyable by giving you a luxurious experience with fantastic company. Don't consider staying anywhere else!

We stayed in the Sky room for only one night after a long drive from Cape Town - what a stunning location and what a stunning room.
I've never seen a bedroom like it, huge doesn't really describe it - the view from the bed out to the ocean was fabulous and you could hear the waves breaking on the shore (a great sound to wake up to!).

Ali and Tim did a great job as hosts, and the breakfast was great.
The whole place has a really special feel to it. We wished we could have stayed longer.

We arrived at Whales Way after travelling from Cape Town, and from the moment we arrived were warmly welcomed by Tim and Ali.

As it was our honeymoon we chose to stay in the Ocean penthouse, which was pure luxury and had spectacular views of the ocean and mountains. It was the little touches that really made the stay, a card from Tim and Ali welcoming us, a pre-booked table at a restaurant for that evening, and choice of DVDs...

Eating breakfast whilst overlooking the ocean was a perfect start to the day, and the breakfast was fabulous, especially the mini chocolate muffins!!

Our only regret was that we didn't book for longer! A must stay resort on the garden route.
