“This really is luxury!”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

We stayed for 3 nights in a Luxury Room at Cinnamon, based on the recommendation of our tour company (Cape Tours Ltd.) This really was luxury!

Our room was large, carpeted and tastefully furnished. It had a comfortable king-size bed and a separate bathroom and a shower unit. The latter had 2 sinks and a bidet to boot! We haven't experienced such luxury outside of a top-class hotel before! We also had a large balcony with table and padded chairs, which overlooked the swimming pool. Whilst the views from the room weren't great, they did look up at the neighbouring hill, which hadn't been too developed.

Our hosts, Desmond & Johan were friendly and increasingly chatty and helpful as they got to know us. They gave us advice on travel, restaurants, etc and lent us umbrellas when we had a wet evening, as well as arranging for our laundry to be washed while we were out one day.

Breakfast was extensive and beautifully presented, with a cooked breakfast to order if required. Lots of wonderful fruit, cereals and yoghurt! They no longer offer an evening meal, but the village centre is only 100 metres way, with a surprisingly good selection of restaurants to choose from, given that it is only a small village. We can recommend the Thai restaurant, but If you want to eat in a particular restaurant, it's worth booking. We couldn't get into the Pizza restaurant one evening, as all tables were taken! However, other restaurants did have space.

This is another place we shall remember with affection.

Very comfortable, clean and pleasant guest house in Wilderness. The pool and garden were very relaxing and the breakfast good. The rooms are huge and beds and bathrooms of an excellent quality. Next time i go to Wilderness i would choose a hotel with seaview, but that is my personal thing. The guest house and hosts desmond and johan did everything to make us feel at home.

My wife and I stayed here recently and we enjoyed our stay. The bedroom was huge, clean and well equipped. The bathroom had two sinks, a big shower and a bath (not to mention the toilet) which was very nice. We also had a balcony overlooking the pool which was very pleasant. The owners were only too happy to make recommendations for restaurants and local attractions. They also called the restaurants on our behalf and made the reservations which was very kind. Breakfast was very impressive - a large buffet well stocked with cereals, fresh fruits, bread, pastries, juices, teas, and coffee. They also take your order for a hot breakfast if you wish which I found very pleasant. I must also mention the 'honesty bar' they operate at the guest house. There is a very well stocked bar and fridge which is not staffed. You help yourself and record in the book placed on the bar what you have had and you pay for it at check-out. It's nice to see that there is still trust in the world!! Overall I would highly recommend this guest house, it met all our needs perfectly.

I would add though, that the owners have two dogs (both very pleasant and completely unobtrusive) and there is a very slight smell of 'dog' in the communal rooms on the ground floor. We certainly did not have an issue with it and were only too happy to see the dogs wandering around but it is something to note if you are allergic or anti-dogs.

Room Tip: Request a room which overlooks the pool.

We spent last night at Cinnamon Boutique and can highly recommend it. The only problem is - we can only stay one night as we are moving onto Cape Town. Our next visit will have to be longer. This is more than home from home. Thank you Johan and Desmond.
