We visited the National Park as day visitors. Entrance fee is R24-00 per person. If you have a Wild Card, entrance is for free. We had a splendid day with our canoe on the Touw River. We also walked on the boardwalk up to the waterfall and spend some time there by swimming in the refreshing water pools and tanning on the big rocks. When rowing back to the camp, we could not resist the opportunity of swimming in the warm river water. Afterwards we had a nice picnic in the park on the grass under some shady trees. The ablution blocks are superbly clean. Both caravan and tent camping sites have beautiful views on the river because it is situated on the banks of the Touw River. These 2 sites are situated on the southern and northern sides of the former Outeniqua Choo-Choo Train railway. We have also the wonderful opportunity in the past to camp here at Eb and Flow. Because of such good memories, we visit this park year after year. If you are fond of canoeing, swimming, walking, and just like beeing in the outdoors, this is really a very good camping site to visit - either for camping for a couple of days or just as a day visitor.

This is a lovely area or could be if it wasn´t slashed to ribbons by a freeway (which roars through the middle), beach views and access blocked by private mansions and peace ruined by water skiing, power boating, quad riding "nature lovers". admittedly we did visit at a very busy time of the year....but there´s no hiding the fact that this is a highly developed, densely populated "wilderness". even beach access takes quite so time to find. we found the nightly (illegal) fireworks just a further annoyance. sanparks really needs to get a grip here. sorry, really not a place for lovers of those things wild....call it what it is...a reasonably leafy seaside resort with quick access from the city.

We hiked the Giant Kinfisher trail yesterday. Excellent birding experience although busy this time of the year. We took around 3,5 hours to complete the hike to the waterfalls and back. The detour over the stepping stones is not for novices and/or people with kids. The pontoon makes an interesting river crossing. Do not attempt the hike without drinking water. We were rewarded for our effort with sightings of the Knysna Lourie, the Olive woodpecker and many other species found in the forest. The paths and walkways are in excellent conditions and beautifully laid out. Some elevationg you into the higher forest canopy. Well worth a visit.

One is surprised at the many unexpected natural wonders here. Set on a river, with the ocean close by, this park is very different to most other National Parks.

We hired canoes at the Eden Adventures located inside the park. At R350 for a double canoe for the entire day, it was well worth the money. Note that it is also neccessary to pay entrance to the park, R25 for South Africans. An easy 40 min rowing takes you into the mountains and a easy 40 min walk along a boardwalk (no hiking shoes neccessary!) gets you to a beutiful waterfall and pools to swim in. We saw many birds, fish, an eel (!) and two duikers. Really well worth it!
