This view is nice overview of the whole area, but not a must. It does not take too much time to get there. Nice drive up - only do it if weather is beautiful

Thank pzan

It is just a view point. Firstly, when you get to the top of Wilderness Heights, up a VERY steep windy road, you go through a large squatter camp to get to Map of Africa. My opinion....waste of petrol!

Since I have last been to see the Map of Africa a few yrs ago when it was a bit overgrown, I must admit they did a great job by getting the shape back to the way it was before.
You can now once again see the actual Map....great going guys. Keep it trimmed and in shape.

What a pleasant experience to see this natural phenomenon on our own doorstep! We have been coming to the area for years and were not aware of this tourist attraction! A must see for everyone! We will be back with our grown-up children!

It is worth the drive up here to enjoy views both ways. The Map itself is a forest between two ravines where water flows down from the mountains after winter and makes its way to the sea. The greenery is a bit overgrown now to truly look like the map of Africa but if you half shut your eyes you can see why it was named!
