On the plus side the property looks the part. Very modern and uncluttered. The negatives: Our room was downstairs, we had to drag our big suitcases down two steep flights of stairs (no offer of help) The room was very dark but we found this compensated by the magnificent sound of the Ocean. The service was where the property let itself down. On asking about activities in the area we were told to read the literature in our room! Usually hosts are very helpful and informative, not here. Apart from the orange juice at the breakfast the rest of it was passable. In summary this is a place where you are paying for the building and not the service and I would recommend finding an owner managed property - you can tell the difference.

we had a very pleasnt stay here, but the minimalist furnishings made it very noisey. The room heating controls also had a mind of their own!
Room facilities excellant, Shower was great.
View of the ocean Perfect,
Gardens very nice,
Breakfast good.
Wifi didn't work.

Room Tip: All good and have great views

We had such an amazing break there for a couple of days in early September. We were blessed with beautiful weather and long walks on the beach which we nearly had all to ourselves in the low season. There are lots to do in the area and the manager was very helpful in recommending things to do and places to eat. The staff was lovely and helpful and the breakfasts were great. We will gladly return to spend a few days at the Ocean View.

We had a gorgeous, modern room right on the ocean with incredible views. The views are amazing from every room, including the breakfast room. Breakfast was excellent, with cold and hot dishes made fresh for you. Our room's heater didn't work (radiant floor heat), so we were given a space heater, which worked fine. Our hot water didn't work very well, either, which was a shame because the shower was huge and amazing. The host was very friendly and staff very sweet. It was too cold to use the swimming pool, but the beach was just a few steps down, which provided a wonderful place for long walks. There is also a very good restaurant within easy walking distance with lovely outdoor seating.

This is a stunning property which might just take your breath away inside and out. We loved it. You can reach the beach from your room via a stair case straight onto the beautiful and wide sandy bay. The main highlight of this guest house is without a doubt the views and the huge glass walls in all areas of the property give you plenty of access to these. From quirky art work to the modern and minimalistic furnishings this is the kind of home we would love to own in our dreams! There were also plenty of luxury touches with a well established library and gorgeous shampoos and soaps (both appreciated a lot more by my wife than me because she reads and has hair!!).

This guest house is also really well located for restaurants and lovely walks. A couple of minutes away by car is a strip of small eateries. We are not sure Wilderness is somewhere you would stay for long but for a day of rest and relaxation it was great.

Unfortunately I cannot give the full 5 stars for two main reasons.
a) the blinds in our room (2?) could not be pulled up and my wife wanted a bath with an ocean view. I tried to pull them up but unfortunately they came off the bracket
b) While the breakfast was tasty enough, for the price (and with other guest houses as comparisons) I would have expected a full English as standard. It only offered cooked eggs.

Heidi the current manager was lovely and helpful, despite a broken foot. Do not take the 4 stars rather than 5 as a reason not to book here but we just feel when you are paying for luxury (a rare thing for us) you need to be honest about these things! Overall a top notch place to spend an evening.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms with a view straight out onto the beach - ask for them.

Set in an ideal location, Ocean View is just that. Every room looks out over the water and the only sound you'll hear is the roar of the ocean. I received great service and enjoyed the heated floors. Windows everywhere to maximize the view.

No major complaints.
