Description: Zucchini is blushing from all the attention... Voted in the "Top 20 Culinary Destinations" in the Garden Route for three years running as voted by the Chaines des Rotisseurs. Also voted best "Family Restaurant" in the Garden route for the last two years. If walls of this honest country restaurant could talk the conversation would include words of fresh, vibrant, from scratch, home grown organic and compliments to the chef. To us simplicity is the key. You can expect dishes filled with flavour, a taste experience for the natural foodie. Zucchini Restaurant is in the Timberlake Organic Village in Wilderness. We offer a selection of Vegetarian meals but also offer game dishes like the "Springbok Shank" or our "Trio of Carpaccio". A mix of local-made micro brews from the tap! 32 Different types of local beers to taste, not to be missed. Play park for the kids, and a host of activities to keep them busy while you relax on our couches and sip a glass of wine.

We originally booked a table for two, and when word got around, we grew to 12... But Oliber and Megan managed it with aplomb - and a warm smile! (ok, we'd let them know in France that we'd be 10, but the unexpected additional folks were happily integrated. Oliver's comment: "You should meet your friends at the dinner table, not on Facebook!"
They have a nice selection if regional wines, and evn a few micro-brews on the menu. Unfortunately, they were sold out!! The wine descriptions are poetic - and accurate. And the wines not at all expensive for the quality and variety. We had the Jakkalsvlei Pinotage Coffee Edition - unusual but outstanding. A wine with great promise!
A little while later (Ok, a bit longer, but they do make everything fresh... And we WERE 12 people... Though I'd suggest not to come here if you're in a hurry - slow is good in this case...) our orders arrived ... And were glorious! Meat grilled just right (Oliver refused to grill it "well done" for one of my mates - good on him!), the dishes seasoned nicely (room for individual salt tastes), and super salads and veg (the roast veg are super!). The springbok was super tender and the Yorkshire pudding was delish.
The desserts were limited in variety, but wonderful in taste. The gooey chocolate cake was super.
The atmosphere is ... Not casual, but it reminded me of beachfront... Relaxed yet with a touch of style. There is an eclectic but not uninteresting selection of music paying in the background, and Oliver and his team are attentive, careful and very friendly.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area of Wilderness or Sedgefield. It even further afield - it'll be worth the trip. And if you come early, the Timberlake Village offers cute shopping and browsing opetuniites (among others one of the finest cheese selections I have seen anywhere near here!).
Definitely worth a visit and you won't regret the time you'll spend there!

We loved the atmosphere and the food that was unusual and tasty. Great service from waiters and staff. It was quiet the evening we visited as the venue is more known as a day-time destination...hope they can get the word out to fill the seats.

After a week on the road from Cape Town with too much Chips and too little veggies this was a dream! The staff were very friendly and helpful, local boutique wine was great and the food was one of the best I´ve had in a long time! The love of the chef for his/hers cooking was obvious!

Eating at a restaurant with ecological and local food and drinks, and with vegan alternatives is not too common, unfortunately, in SA.

Any vegetarians out there looking for a decent burger, look no further. I had the Chickpea burger which was very tasty and HUGE. Refreshing to see a menu with items slightly different than the normal boring same old same old. Carnivores relax, there is plently for you to eat as well. Lots of organic and free range items too.
