Description: Zucchini is blushing from all the attention... Voted in the "Top 20 Culinary Destinations" in the Garden Route for three years running as voted by the Chaines des Rotisseurs. Also voted best "Family Restaurant" in the Garden route for the last two years. If walls of this honest country restaurant could talk the conversation would include words of fresh, vibrant, from scratch, home grown organic and compliments to the chef. To us simplicity is the key. You can expect dishes filled with flavour, a taste experience for the natural foodie. Zucchini Restaurant is in the Timberlake Organic Village in Wilderness. We offer a selection of Vegetarian meals but also offer game dishes like the "Springbok Shank" or our "Trio of Carpaccio". A mix of local-made micro brews from the tap! 32 Different types of local beers to taste, not to be missed. Play park for the kids, and a host of activities to keep them busy while you relax on our couches and sip a glass of wine.

We went several times, for a coffee with great cake, a nice glass of wine, a lunch or a dinner.
People are sooooo friendly and we could sit and check all our e-mail free on our ipad which was great because free wifi does not really excist in south africa. The food was always fresh and good, you can sit in and outside, a very relaxed atmospher, next to the forest. Great area for families with children, they can walk around, very safe and do all kind of things too.
When we visit the Garden route again, we will defintely visit Zucchin,s!!!

Beautiful restaurant in a nature picturesque location. The staff were great and it was pleasant to chat to them, all of them local. Interesting Decor, very African farm with a warm modern touch. The food was delicious and good to know that most of what was on the menu came from the local garden. Great selection of wines. We will definitely go back there soon.

This was one of the best restaurants we visited on our holiday. Food, wine, service, friendliness, décor, location and value were all outstanding. The only downside was there were only 3 tables occupied so the atmosphere was lacking. Surprising as we dined there on a Friday evening. Otherwise would be 5star plus.

Hello Derek069,

I want to say thank you for your positive review of Zucchini Restaurant.

With more positive reviews from clients informing the hungry traveler that we are a food destination of note we can fill those Friday night to the brim!

As for an explanation why Friday nights are less than booked up is that Friday is market night in Wilderness Village, and many of the locals support this market as we do.

Zucchini is open 7 days a week from 11am and serving dinner every night until 9pm.

Sent the pasta back as it only had half the ingredients advertised on the menu. When it finally arrived it was oily and lacked taste. On a previous occasion the service was exceptionally slow in spite of only a few tables being occupied. The waitress knew nothing about the food on the menu and seemed disinterested. The food was ok then. Went to Zucchini on the basis of a good review but as a local will not be returning. There are better alternatives in the area.

Hello Gray R,

I would like to start by saying that it was unfortunate that you experienced a bad meal, including the bad service of a previous visit at Zucchini Restaurant.

I must admit that as a small privately owned restaurant it is imperative that we always put the best foot forward, and I apologize that you were not offered the same service that all the other reviewers on this site seemed to have received.

If you would be so kind as to return to my establishment to receive the attention you deserve with a complimentary pasta.

If you venture over to our website you will see our menu, but please be aware that the pasta you ordered "The Route" is a olive oil based pasta so please do choose another option if it is not to your taste.

Regards
Stephan

Great atmosphere. Loved the bar area with the horse saddles for seats. The staff were friendly and the music suited the setting. Food was good, but the steak was a overcooked. The Ostich Frikkadeletjies were very tasty.
