we have not stayed in the views hotel but rather only enjoyed their spa. we do see a lot of spas around the world, the views is amongst the best.

it starts with filling out a form about your lifestyle, eating habits, sleep behavior... and how you want your massage. totally makes sense, but very few spas do that.

I had a facial treatment which was really good, but seems like my girlfriend got the jackpot. she had a massage that she told me was simply outstanding. and trust me, she knows what she is talking about, she does massage appointments every week. strong hands that knew where to do what, not forgetting about any muscle that might be braced. thanks allendia for treating her well!

thanks to the reviews here we avoided the sails restaurant, instead we had dinner at the girls as well as serendipity - both recommended!!

It is a disgrace that such a good view is wasted with Sails restaurant. Food tasteless, cocktails mediocre (could be because of the intoxicated bar man this afternoon) and service really poor. What a shame! Stay and visit for the view...don't eat at this place...do not even try to order a drink. Selina's up the road has a similar view though not as spectacular but the food and service are excellent.

We had a really disappointing stay at Views. This was our 2nd stop along the Garden Route after Plettenberg Bay.

First of all, the location is just of the N2 which is ideal if you don't want to go too far off your route, but has the obvious downsides, especially if you are not in a sea-facing room.

We were greeted by a very friendly chap (Morse) on arrival who completed check-in quickly and efficiently and gave us a tour of the hotel before taking us up to our room.

We were put in room 10 (we hadn't read the reviews about room 10 prior to going) and the room itself was very nice. It was modern, clean and very spacious. The bathroom was particularly modern and quite funky. However, the view was awful. This was described as a mountain view room, and whilst we could see the mountain in the distance, most of the view was of the car park to the hotel next door, a dirt path (where the security car was sometimes parked), a petrol station and the N2. Definitely not worth the money we paid for the room. There was a balcony, but we didn't sit on it as we were only there 1 night and were too busy going out to explore - not sure we would have sat on it anyway to watch the cars go by!!

The pool and cocktail bar area are very nice, especially as the sun is starting to set. There are stunning views from there aswell over Wilderness beach - ideal if you don't have a seafacing room and want to make the most of the view.

The hotel is located close to the stunning Wilderness beach and the beach can be reached from the front of the hotel and down 150 steps. Worth the effort though!

As this hotel is not close to Wilderness itself, we ate in Sails Restaurant at the hotel. What an absolute disappointment. Service was awful, and the food was tasteless. There seemed to be other people complaining, and unfortunately, staff then spent so much time trying to improve things for them that the service for everyone else got even worse!! When it came to ordering, I wanted to order the vegetable spring rolls, only to be told they were out of stock. No apology, or suggestion of an alternative (tricky when it was the only veggie starter on the menu!). I then wanted a pizza for my main with addiontal peppers, only to be told they didn't have any peppers!! Again, no apology. It seems strange to me that a restaurant doesn't have any peppers - it's not as if they are rare or an unusual cooking ingredient!! When the food did arrive, it was bland and tasteless. We finished our drinks during the meal and were not asked if we would like another, and we were also not shown a wine list at any point. Throughout the meal, another waiter kept coming to our table and removing our condiments (without asking) to take to another table who appeared to be complaining. All of this is not what I would expect from a hotel that is supposed to be 5 stars - maybe they should look at other 5 star hotels and compare themselves to this. In my opinion, improving the service in the restaurant would significantly enhance this hotel.

We got to breakfast early on the morning of departure and the room was empty meaning we got the pick of the tables. We managed to sit in the window looking out over the beach and the sea which was beautiful - especially as we saw dolphins swimming in the ocean. The lady running breakfast was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very tasty, with a good selection of cold food and hot food on order.

To be honest, I would have given this hotel 2 stars if it wasn't for the close proximity to the beach, the spacious room and the good breakfast. However, this hotel pitches itself as a 5 star hotel, and having being fortunate to stay in a couple of other 5 star hotels in South Africa, this one is, in my opinion, has quite a way to go to achieve 5 stars.

Room Tip: Avoid the mountain facing rooms - we chose one of these and had a lovely view of the N2, a car park...

The Views Hotel is a very modern hotel with awesome views of the Indian Ocean... Our room faced west with a nice lanai for catching the ocean breezes. Most of the view was great, except that we were across the way from at a run-down looking hotel and parking lot next door.... Our room had 2 twin beds put together to make a king bed, a mini bar and a flat screen TV... It also had a small study area with a fold-out couch-bed for our 2 small boys and a flat screen TV........ Our bed was very comfortable... The bathroom had a giant twin shower, separate tub and a fancy sink area..... Interestingly, the toilet was in its own little cubicle and the rest was out in the open... The floor of the bath area was unique as it wasn't carpet or tile, but a fine stone aggregate that was surprisingly comfortable on the feet... It was a non-slippery surface and drained the water well.... A great idea.

The hotel's design and decor is modern contemporary with a lot of glass and exposed metal framework. The lighting was bright. It's perched on a cliff about 150 feet (50 metres) above the beach and ocean, and there's a stairway close by that leads down to the beach..... The spa area is on the lower level, and the pool deck, game room and outdoor restaurant is just below the top floor.... The views from this restaurant were excellent, and the views from the regular restaurant were great too.... Breakfast is included with your stay... There was a decent spread of food on the buffet table.... But what surprised me was you can also order food from the kitchen, no charge.... Usually the hotels/motels i've come across offer one or the other, but not both. Either way, the food tasted good.

During our stay, it almost felt like we were staying in someone's home, albeit a huge home.... But, despite it's ultra modern architecture, it had a very cozy feeling to it, with great views... We liked that a lot.

All in all, we really liked this hotel. There are a few complaints, however... First, i'm not a big fan of double twin beds.... I'm not sure why hotels have this arrangement, but i think they should just go with a single king or queen bed... Whenever you have a glass-focused architecture, you tend to have heating/cooling issues and water leakage... And yep, those issues surfaced during our stay... It rained heavily one morning and the roof leaked in at least one spot... And the weather was moderately warm, yet it got pretty hot inside certain areas of the lobby and communal areas...i can't imagine what it would be like during the really hot mid-summer heat! The pool was fairly small and any more than 5-6 people in it would be a crowd.... In addition, it seemed like the pool deck was somewhat neglected, as was the restaurant... There weren't enough chairs (i had to sit on the floor for dinner one evening) and after our meal, the waitstaff never picked up our dishes (they sat, un-moved for at least an hour, then we left)......

If it weren't for these complaints, i could easily give The Views a 5, but as it stands, i rate it at a 4.5 (TA doesn't allow half points).... Nevertheless, i would stay there again.

Room Tip: I would say any room, except the ones facing north, towards the highway, would be a good bet... The...

One of the best boutique hotels on the Garden Route South Africa. The service is good and the staff most helpful. As their are several dining options nearby, I have yet to have a meal at the hotel. I did have afternoon tea and it was excellent. The location is absolutely stunning. The beach is just a short walk down many stairs. As this hotel is perched high up, you will need to take the flight of stairs. Well worth the walk. The beach is excellent and waters are warm in summer ( October to March). Rooms are spacious with all the mod cons. I will return. Not all rooms are sea facing.

Once we arrived we felt we did not want to leave, the overall feel of the hotel is so relaxing. The design, decor and detail is so well thought out. Views is the perfect name, you just want to sit and enjoy them.
Great detail to have telescope to catch the wales passing by, if you spot one.
Food good, wine and cocktails.
Enjoy a walk down to the beach and get back to enjoy the sunset.

Room Tip: A sea view is an extra well worth considering - the alternative is the back of a petrol station, but...
