We came across Serendipity quite by chance. And what a find! Fantastic setting, beautiful dining room, amazing food and service! We were welcomed warmly by Rudolf and the whole menu was explained in detail while sipping an aperitif on the verandah. Lizelle and her team served really excellent food from start to finish, particularly the springbok! Great value for money! We'll be back!

Beautiful setting overlooking the river - get there in time to sit on the veranda & enjoy sundowners.
Each item on the menu is well described. The service is very friendly & attentive.
The food is excellent. The springbok we had was delicious and cooked to perfection.
They have a very good wine list but I suggest the wine pairings.

Serendipity is a must do when in Wilderness!

The menu has a South African slant to it; including amasi and pap which is what you want from an unashamedly South African restaurant. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding and they offer good value for money. This is what attracts us to the establishment and ensures that when we are visiting the Garden Route we make it a point that we dine there at least once. I can assure you that if it is excellent food and outstanding service you are after, Serendipity is the place you are looking for. Rudolph and Lizelle are fantastic hosts and I am certainly looking forward to our next meal there. Please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Wow! Where to begin...cannot fault this restaurant! Sat outside on a verandah that overlooks the Touw river, it seems this restaurant was made for romance. Service was great, very friendly and attentive and a good description of each course as well as each wine pairing. Generous servings of wine. All of these wonderful things are of course outdone by the magnificent food! The smoked trout and wasabi sorbet was interesting and delicious. The linefish as a main was by far the best I've ever eaten. My husband's main of springbok rack with risotto and red wine jus was excellent! The palate cleasner was delectable and the desserts were to die for! With such interesting tastes and combinations in every course its very easy to see why this restaurant wins award after award. At R1200 for a 5 course wine and dinner pairing for two, definitely not a cheap night out, but, if you enjoy good food there's only one restaurant in Wilderness you should eat at, and that's Serendipity.

Rudolph our waiter, told us about every intricate detail of what we were eating. His wife Liselle was the cook and we can honestly say that we had the most delicious meal in a wonderful setting on the other side of the lagoon from Moontide.
