Booked the hotel last minute and tried to find something in the mid to low price range as we were only using this hotel as an overnight stopoff. Once we checked in it was evident that we could have easily stayed for much longer. The guesthouse is situated in the picturesque hills overlooking the Wilderness (5 mins drive from all the resturants/attractions of the area). We stayed in a 2 bedroom challet which although quite oldfashioned in style, was perfect for the location and if we stayed longer we would have loved to make use of the self catering facilities and just stayed put for a few days. Tony the owner was more than friendly, not to mention his 2 placid dogs that would greet you apon your arrival. We went out to a resturant in the evening and when Tony noticed we were leaving he ran outside after us to give us an umbrella as the weather report for later that night looked like rain..its the little things that make the difference!! The only negative would be no wifi, but to be honest if you can't live without the net for a few days in a place like this then maybe you should rethink your trip. To summerise, best place we stayed in out of our whole trip to SA, and for the price it reiterates the term value for money.

To the hosts, Tony and Vanessa, nothing was too much trouble and they both made me feel very welcome indeed. They offered helpful information and were always friendly and warm. The location is beautiful and peaceful. I ended up having my morning runs on the Wilderness beach which is short trip away, and was back for the fantastic breakfasts.

Room Tip: I had the honeymoon suite which is well located near the pool and has great views

We had an amazing stay here at Hildesheim! The views are incredible and the owners are absolutely wonderful! They welcomed us into their home as well as took care of everything at the guest house. We would recommend this to any family or group traveling.

Room Tip: Large guest house- self catering. Sleeps 4 easily and could hold up 8 with couches.

Tony and Vanessa are great hosts. Hildesheim is located in a peaceful and beautiful location, within an easy drive of Wilderness. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and the touches like tea, coffee and delicious rusks most welcome.
Breakfast is very tasty and we particularly like the muesli and yoghurt pots!
We would have no hesitattion in recommending Hildesheim and look forward to returning again when we are next in South Africa.
