Description: Located in the heart of the Wilderness village, we are a multi award winning, Top 10 Restaurant on the Garden Route. Come and relax in a cosy, African inspired atmosphere highlighted by stunning artwork by local artist, Peter Pharoah. We have an imaginative menu combining high quality local produce with distinctly different flavours. Popular menu items include fresh linefish, succulent prawns, tender steaks and flavoursome curries all cooked to perfection in our open kitchen where you can see the chef at work. Our award winning wine list has been carefully chosen to offer a wide selection of local South African wines to enhance your dining experience. We have handmade crafts in our curio shop upstairs and free Wi-Fi available. We look forward to welcoming at The Girls

The prawns and calamari are very tender and the sauces are great. We liked the idea of choosing 3different sauces.
A lot of the dishes you can have 3 combinations. 3 different fillets/ fish etc. you can also have a combination of bite size portions of the deserts. All very good.
The menu is also not your average dishes. Nice combinations and something different.
I would recommend this restaurant to everybody.
The best dinner we had in a long time.

Many people talked about this "Award winning" restaurant and we couldn't wait to try it out as they were HIGHLY recommended. The location of the place is not that great but who cares if they have great food. Our waitress showed us to our table (we reserved one) we got the worst seat in the house while many others were still available. We ordered our meals, I had a steak (ordered medium) with chilli chocolate sauce, received my steak raw, the sauce was delicious though. My husband had curry and was happy with his meal. We decided to order desert, couldn't wait to try the crème brule since my steak wasn't that great... worst crème brule ever!!! It was ice cold (like just taken out of the fridge) and the caramelized sugar was everything but caramelized! Paid our extremely overpriced (with regards to quality) bill and left, will definitely not recommend them or ever go back. If you want decent steak go to Joplins, romantic evening Salinas (delicious salads) and great vibe Pomodoro (best pizza ever) but The Girls was a complete waste of time and money.

Dear 3A Knight,

Thanx for taking the time to write the review and please accept my apologies for your experience at The Girls.

As you can see by the previous reviews, and as you say, the reputation we do have, it is distressing and disappointing to say the least that you were not satisfied.

We pride ourselves on our consistency in customer satisfaction, food and service and there is nothing I can say in defence of what you experienced except that I wish we could have remedied your seating and steak on the night. We have taken your comment about the brulee on board and addressed it with the right person - hopefully we can prevent another mistake!!!

If ever you are back in Wilderness and perhaps consider giving us another chance I ask you to contact me directly on 0728345556 so that I may make amends for what went down over your long weekend.

Apologies again

This restaurant was one of our favorites during our travels. It was casual yet the food was first class. We were well advised by the very friendly waitress who was interested in us and our travels and efficient in service. It is strangely located behind a petrol station, but once inside the doors it was warm and had a great atmosphere, The decor was of high end African arts and crafts, and upstairs there was a gallery in which you could browes around. One not to miss in Wilderness.

Found this by chance as it hides behind a Caltex garage, and what a find, lovely food, attentive staff and excellent value.

We had read the reviews of this restaurant prior to visiting South Africa but had only noted it was in Wilderness. We were amazed to find it behind a petrol station. We need not have worried the food was wonderful we had the trio of fish which was superb. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive and the whole experience was faultless. You must eat here if you are in the area.
